How'd you fix it?
At a guess I'd say something got updated/refreshed at mod.io to link to Steam, as before whenever I clicked on the 'link account to Steam' banner it did nothing.
1. unsub to all mods on modio site and delete account
2. launch game with -disablemodding in launch options
3. exit to desktop and delete -disablemodding from launch options
4. go to "C:\Users\YourUser\AppData\Local delete modio folder
5. go to "C:\Users\Public" delete modio folder
6. (Check "C:\ProgramData" and see if there's a modio folder, if there is - then delete it)
7. launch the game
if it doesn't work try going to this https://steamcommunity.com/app/548430/discussions/1/3044985412487214673/
or the DRG discord server and go to the #drg-moddind-discussion, there is a bunch of people there to help
So you created a modio account... and clicked the button to link your modio account with your steam account?
Once you did that... in game press ESC and select the "mod" tab on the top, it is the rightmost. Once open, there is a button on the bottom right "Manage my Mods. Clicking that opens modio in the overlay and you can surf around there.
To follow Deep Rock Galactic on modio all you have to do is click on that little controller icon on the left side and a list of Games opens up. Click any game to get to the Game's page... and it is added on the left as a icon. Then search the Mods you like... hit the "subscribe" button on the right side above the pictures...
Launch the game and it should do it's thing by itself.
When the mod support launched I wanted to join a friends game... he ran 10 mods. I tried to just join his game... the mods would not want to download and let me connect to him lol. So I had to close the game, restarted it, still nothing. So I did what I described, unsubscribe... start game, close game, resubscribe... what a bother.
So I do not know what you could do to fix your issue. What I would try is start the game, <ESC> and then go to the mods and check the list, click that button "Manage My Mods" on the bottom right and make sure it opens the modio window from within the game's steam overlay. Then unsubscribe the mods. Check the Mod menu within Deep Rock Galactic again... "Apply" if it lets you. Close the game. Start it again, check the mod menu within the game.
Once you are there, and according to modio you are not subscribed to any mods, try to subscribe to one and check what happens.
So far for me if I subscribed to 10+ mods... modio wasn't able to deal with it... great website.
log in on modio via discord or anything else
going in profile you can see that you can connect your steam that way you can connect to it
(it worked for me even tho i was getting un expected errors)
after that you can go in deep rock galactic and just agree to mods
if didnt work try deleting modio from LOCAL and USER!
HOPE IT WORKED!!!
Danny from mod.io here. Just want to add that it's strongly discouraged from unsubbing or closing and deleting your account. Instead, if you face any auth issues;
1. Right-click on the Start button, and choose "Run" (Windows 8/10/11 or press WINKEY + R
Type %localappdata%
2. Navigate to the mod.io folder
3. In this folder, you will find another folder with a 4 digit ID. If you use more than one game that utilizes mod.io, there may be multiple folders. Find the folder with the ID 2475, or the only folder there if you do not play any other mod.io enabled games.
4. Navigate through this folder, and the next folder, until you locate user.json
5. Rename this to user.json.BAK
6. Restart Deep Rock Galactic
Cheers!
