Thoughts on the mugs?
I like the design, but ... plastic? You want me to drink beer, out of a child's sippy cup?

It's plastic. You can ask someone on Etsy to make it for you and probably pay less for a higher quality material. Not to mention that you get to choose which mug to print, you leaf lover. I'd rather have glass or even plexiglass lol.

Small ? It's the size of an european pint, 500ml. They're not small at all lol.

you're better off paying a local printer shop to make a bigger one, that's likely both cheaper, more durable, and let's actually chose your colours for display if you're actually interested in owning some DRG-esque looking memorabilia

I can tell you for sure thaa a 3D printed mug won't be more durable and won't be microwave, dishwasher, temperature and food safe.

In this case though, you can use boiling water and alcohol in the mugs.

No, not really.

ABS is not rated for boiling water, just below it, using it for making tea by pouring from your kettle will, eventually, do permanent damage.

It's also not colourfast, and any booze put in it WILL leach the dyes from it, for you to drink.

Unless they are lying about the material they picked?

It's not ABS, it's Polyamide 6. Would be nice if people read the KS page and FAQ at some point.

The plastic they used can withstand 85°C for long period of times without getting damaged. The water from your kettle shouldn't be higher than that when you pour it in the mug.

Outside of the fact that each plastic type has about a thousand variant, PA6 can withstand much higher temperature on average before you start seeing deformation, which starts to happen at 120°C. Much higher than ABS.

Yeah, I've seen the so called Etsy mugs and it's usually same or higher price with an extreme dip in quality so not really.

The plastic being used is also of extremely high quality, and thus expensive. The design is very complex, significantly more complex than your average plastic drinking vessel; involving multiple pieces.

I'm not saying buying expensive plastic mugs from a videogame is a smart choice in general, and I'm definitely not going to be spending my money on something so frivolous, but it's not a scam, you're getting charged relative to what it costs to produce the product; it just costs WAY more than you think due to economy of scale. Ie. They would be WAY cheaper if they made WAY more of them, but obviously no one is gonna buy all of those.

This is exactly what Kickstarter is for, small batches of niche product; that people are willing to pay more than average for.

Sure, sure you did.

Consoomers like these are the reason why quality went down the drainer lately. They will eat up whatever poo you throw at them, its incredible. their lack of self-value really makes you question what kind of mushroom they smoke.

You should try actually reading, I've said twice now that I would never spend money on "over priced" plastic mugs lol, I literally said it in the quote you included, you're so eager for some kind of internet win you're just tripping over yourself; and now you look pretty foolish.

BUH-BUH-BUH-BAAAAAAAAAAAAASED
Great shelf piece, though I would stick to my regular mugs for drinking as the lip on them looks a bit thick for my liking. Plus that massive size wont fit neatly in my cupboards anyhow, might buy if i have the spare cash.

Pretty cool, but I have too many cups already. Darn.

The bottom line is that Kickstarter exists to pair customers with extra money to overpriced products that would never get made otherwise.

It's a free market, people are clearly willing to pay for this product, and even beyond that, I'm pretty sure the stretch goals were reached; so they are extremely willing lol.

If you think it's not high quality? Fine. If you think it's over priced? Great. Don't buy it, no one wants you to, no one needs you to, you're clearly not the target audience; nor am I.

Trying to fabricate some kind of fake drama or controversy over it is just sad, the price is a consequence of small scale bespoke product manufacturing, it is what it is, you vote with your wallet, and people already did; the free market is willing to bear the cost of this product and that's literally all the justification it needs.

No one is being scammed, this is not a practical product promising to solve some dire need, it's a collectors item, a vanity piece, a guilty pleasure, its an indulgence, the people buying it fully understand they are paying too much for what they are getting in a practical sense; that's the entire idea.
