Deep Rock Galactic
Hosts intentionally disconnecting everyone at the end
Why isn't this problem talked about? I was robbed twice of my rewards today because of this troll move, and the game has zero counter-measure against it. No matchmaking bans for hosts, no rewards for those who got kicked out, nothing. If it's not addressed, it will become the default behaviour in public lobbies.

Just block these people and/or host yourself.

This has been talked about at least a hundred times already.

Blocking does nothing unless you host.

I am sure you can prove it was intentional and not their or your connection having a stroke.

So what was the devs' response? Do they even acknowledge the problem?

Sure it is the connection randomly disrupting only after the pod is called and the mission is practically done, network problems follow this specific distribution with 99% of the probability density concentrated around the end of the mission. And it also somehow never happens when I host a game.

If you are getting disconnected all the time, then it's your connection (or hardware) that is at fault. I've got 2.6k hours played and I've very, VERY rarely had any issues with disconnects.

The game is peer to peer and we can be 100% sure the developers will not be implementing any sort of host migration (yes, it has been brought up before many times) since it would just take too much time, money and/or effort to change the system.

The devs' response is nothing can be done without changing entirely the networking system.
The P2P system has been the same since the game's inception, and there has never been an uptick of people unplugging their wifi.

AFAIK devs like the idea, it is technically possible but they have no plans for it.

Did you even read the post you are replying to?

So, not even some kind of compensation for victims or punishment for abusers? Then it's either playing the Russian roulette when joining public games, or playing lobby simulator when hosting games yourself. Beside that makeshift "solution" of just blocking people who do this, but it will still force you to eat a DC at least once for every troll.

Russian roulette but there is a bullet, and 999 empty chambers.
Also the bullet makes you lose 20 minutes of your time instead of killing you.

Wait lol, I gotta ask; what in the world would make you think this? Please explain.

Basic player psychology? When something can be abused to troll other players and make them waste hours of time in total, it will be abused en masse until it's prevented by the game. That's how it was in early DbD, where they had to impose a harsh DC penalty, and even there damage caused by disconnects was not even close to what we have here, players there didn't even lose farmed resources from others disconnecting. Host disconnecting in DRG is closer to crashing the server in DbD, and when a way to do so is found - it's happening every other game until the faulty mechanic is killswitched.

It's been the same for 5+ years and it's no more common now than it was then, I know because I've been playing this game that long; so you're just flat out wrong lol.

Moat people aren't trolls and have no desire to troll anyone.

Not a single fact stated in the post you are replying to is wrong. And judging by how actively you defend this behaviour, you seem to use this exploit from time to time yourself.
Ah, you're a DbD player.
