Hey, yeah man. I googled on where these damn corrupted files were hiding on my pc. I located them and did a Shift+Del. But it seems after playing the game, they just came back. I removed them from the Mod.io collection in which they were removed, however they were still present in my modding menu. As suggested by the people on here, I will lodge complaints to each mod developer until I find a way to resolve this matter without having to lose my years of gameplay...I did wish I knew how dangerous modding was.
its not a corrupted stage, though. its your game files being corrupted by coding that you put in through mods.
I see...in future it would just be best to stay away from mods entirely unless it was published from the game developers or approved by them?
thats because the mods arent just in folders. those folders are being created by the mods that you installed. every time you boot up.
real question. do you also open emails that tell you a foreign prince wants you to wire him $5k because his assets are frozen? if not, why not? because you dont actually know where its coming from. and you dont actually know what that link "he" wants you to click may be doing.
why would installing mods be different? you also dont know who put it out for you to download and open.
I see and understand your point more clearly.
At this point the best action to take, would be to contact each mod developer and I hope I get lucky, or to start a new game in hopes it would somehow delete the files?
a clean reinstall would be your best bet, removing all traces of those installed mods. every file and trace left after an uninstall. whether your game save is in the cloud or not I dont know.
did you say one of the mods you used was to speed up seasonal progression? that would (i assume) be pretty deeply installed there.
I have deleted is from my collection, unsubscribed and deleted to core file from my PC. Nothing can remove this as far as I know.
and you call me delusion...at the edge of finding a solution. You choose to add your comment. Nicely done man
This seems to be the best option, I have tried to reinstall the game. Would you suggest a "Reset Progress" in the game options and then reinstall the game?
if it were me, resetting progress like that would be the last option. run all the usual file clean ups and defrag between clean installs. if you dont have much you care about reinstalling on steam, do a clean steam reinstall.
make sure mod.io is off you machine entirely too. ive never liked automatic mod installers myself. even in my WoW days with Overwolf (I think that was the service)
NO No, I definitely care about saving my data. Hell, If I had an option I would be happy to reset my data if it meant I can start again from season 1.
Resetting progress I would definitely be a last option. I am not familiar with the defrag and clean ups you mention. However I will see if I am able to find something on google on how to.
I will definitely completely demolish Mod.io!
basically, it sounds to me like the sh*t thats messing with your code is somewhere not being hit by reinstalls of DRG. hopefully taking care of that would allow you to clean reinstall DRG without it being messed with on your machine.
