Wait so DRG won't be getting any big updates for all of 2025?
Am I misunderstanding the roadmap?

No confirmed updates. Season 06 will still be a thing.

The devs are busy launching Rogue Core at the moment, but DRG will see more updating and Seasons once they pass that hurdle.

Season 6 will be mid-late 2025. But yes, no big updates until then according to the roadmap.

To be announced.

Hopefully Season 6 will be filled with more content than usual, then. Perhaps a perk rework will come along with it.

it seems that way, which is slightly troubling. i hope we at least see the return of maintenance updates during this time

Unlikely, considering they're a part of why they had to push everything back a fair bit.

They're on Rogue Core and will only make updates for the fixes and seasonal events for DRG until Rpgue Core is out for alpha testing.

At this point, I'm fine with it IMO. The game is more than complete in terms of gameplay, and the only thing left is to finish the narrative (and lead-in to the sequel) of the dimension cores inevitably causing DOOM because it's obvious to everyone but DRG management that collecting them is a terrible idea.

Lets be honest here, after hundreds of hours a small update isn't really going to draw me or many others back into playing regularly anyway. Save it all for the one final major update.

I don't even know why they're still updating the game. It's the same stuff every time; I dunno why people placidly just wait for weapon skins and a little cave event to be drip-fed to them. I'm just waiting for Rogue Core so I can pay for something (hopefully) somewhat different at this point.

I am kinda curious if rogue core and DRG even differentiate enough in the first place.

Sure there is less focus on traversal abd more on rogue like/lite whatever shooting but in its core (pun) it is another coop shooter.

I mean, Rogue core was initially planned as a game mode for DRG, so there is overlap.
Ultimately, the devs switched it to a standalone spinoff because it would have been way more effort to implement it as a gamemode while not breaking years-old code than starting from scratch.

I think its silly that they're splitting the playerbase between two games when rogue core could be just a different game mode

Well, it's just a matter of "how possible is it to code without breaking the entire game".
The devs figured out the answer was "not possible".
