After that, unlock and use any equipment you fancy. I personally run Vampire, Deep Pockets, Born Ready / Elemental Insulation, Iron Will on all my characters and it works phenomenally even on Haz5 with randoms. Get your character promoted so you can get the second active perk slot opened (the blue perks), and put on something like Field Medic, Dash or Beast Master, but remember that Iron Will is king and will save many missions if you use it appropriately.
I seriously hope you meant hover boots.
i wouldnt say to rush and unlock the cryo just for the benefit of proccing vampire. the CRSPR and sludge pump are much better weapons than it anyway
work at your own pace and explore your options first
Resupplier is always a great passive perk, and Driller benefits a lot from Vampire because of all his melee weapons.
Born Ready isn't as good on him because only a few of his weapons have reloads compared to other classes, and Thorns is less useful because many of his weapons have automatic AoE effects to easily keep swarmers off of you.
Well, IABT is the only perk the dev's have literally stated to be a joke perk; so intent counts for a lot lol.
That said, you can make any perk work, even IABT.
Instead of focusing on what's "best", pick a handful that sound interesting and rock em on a mission. I mean, beast master is objectively not seen as much of a meta, but I was so fascinated by it when I first discovered it, just sounded cool to have pet bug. I've been solo-ing Elite Deep Dives weekly with my Steevie on all classes round-robin style since, and half the time I forget to use it in the first place.
What really matters in the game is your upgrades, and your overclocks. Bread and butter. Ask about those or better yet look into them and figure out some builds. Having a coherent load-out of weaponry that works well, compensates or sacrifices, and synergises well with other abilities/guns in the same set is literally what the game's about.
Thanks for this! :)
Speaking of, iron will is the single most useful perks of them all regardless if you play solo or with other people. Vampirism helps a lot, because you get up with 0 health and when it runs out, you die again, so the first thing you want to do is melee kill any medium or bigger enemy, likely with a power attack. Dash is your perk to escape encirclement and to cross gaps via jumping, with it you can turn a hopeless situation into a good clump of enemies to kill. It's got pretty low cooldown timer too.
Heightened senses are a crutch that will postpone your inevitable realisation that you have to look up. Field medic is kinda good if you play scout, but as driller clearing out surrounded body isn't that hard, even if you're beset by fliers or shooters you can just drill a pit to hide and revive your teammate. The rest of the perks are really meh to useless tier, unless you want something like berserker with cryo, never tried it though. Beast master is also kinda useful, but it does have it's drawbacks, try it yourself to see.
