Discord: Beware bait memes

So, whilst at work I get a notification stating I'm banned from the discord which shocked me to say the least.
Reason: transphobic behavior in memes

Which had me confused since I never post politically charged memes on DRG and always keep it respectful and stay on topic. I did a little research and found another post where someone got banned for reacting with a sad face on an LGBTQ meme and I'm thinking that's what has happened here. A moderator posts a pride meme and any reaction that isn't a heart gets banned. Politically charged baiting. I'm open to discussion with any discord moderator as I'd like to be back with my dwarven brothers but banning folks for emojis is low. I'm in the discord to play DRG, joke with my brothers, and have a good time.
If the mod shows up I'll DM you my discord tag and we'll see if I'm correct about what happened.

This seems to be a newish trend, definitely for the worse:

a couples weeks before Season 4 dropped, we got a wave of people posting here that they were banned from the discord and didn’t know why, turns out they all reacted “negatively” to a post in the memes channels that mentioned LGBT (if I recall, it was a picture calling Molly trans or something, literally no joke included)

Everyone who reacted with the disgust face, thumbs down, and sad face, was instantly banned without warning.

There are countless issues with this type of moderation, but the biggest concerns are: It punishes the people who simply didn’t find the meme funny (again, I literally saw no humor in it), and just expressed their feelings on it the same way they would on ANY other meme. These reactions aren’t unheard of, you can see them on plenty of other memes, yet those players go unpunished. It’s a massive double standard and misuse of power.

It also punishes the people who use those reactions just because they like to click every existing reaction on each meme - a claim made by several of the banned players.

The discord has always been strict enough for me to keep my conversations there short and sparse, usually just posting screenshots and memes, because it always seemed like unless you had the “Veteran” role, you were one misunderstood message away from getting punished without warning. but unfortunately it seems to be getting worse, instead of better.

Hopefully Dwarfurious sees this post and accepts your thread as an “apology”. He isn’t the mod responsible for these irrational bans, and is quite understanding.

Well, im not apologizing for anything....if my views cant be respected in the same manner as any other then the moderators can have the discord all to themselves. It'll be a disappointment i carry towards GSG until they rectify the issue and give the problem mods the boot. They are basically dynamite fishing the userbase by luring them there with a meme then throwing a ban bomb on em. If GSG are smart theyll recognize this as a personal attack upon their playerbase and react in kind, if not, then i guess theyll stick their head in the sand til the screaming stops.
