Main menu music keeps playing on loop on the ship and in missions. Any fixes?

I was playing earlier today without this problem, but now the game will continue to play the main menu music indefinitely. I haven't been able to fix is and it keeps looping anywhere on the ship, in the minigames, terminals, and during missions.

EDIT: I played around with the audio settings and nothing will get rid of the music. It replays about every minute and goes on for about 20 seconds. I've restarted, validated files, restarted my pc. Nothing will make it stop.

yep, same issue. Even turned game music OFF and nothing fixes it. AND, the menu music is so damn loud I can't hear things during the mission. Verified files, done all i can think of; nothing :/

Open the Steam overlay, close any open tabs.

none of this works. how to fix this, anyone? i refuse to play this game with the out of sync looping music
