New Playerr: Cannot Load Missions, Doing Something Wrong?

Sp I finished the tutorial and really liked it enough to not mind lacking a core friends group to play with. and happily bought the on-sale Supporter Pack. Logged in today, picked my paintjobs, and selected the first assigned mission, picked "solo", and hopped in my drop pod, and nothing happens.

No countdown, no confirmation either visual or audio, I hopped out of the pod after a few minutes and tried getting in one of the empty slots, nothing there either. Then I tried picking the mission and joining a multiplayer session and it rejects my selection saying, "Cannot join while mission is loading". But nothing is loading--after 10min idling in my drop pod I closed the game and came here.

There has got to be a "ready up" button somewhere in my pod that I am somehow blind enough to have missed in the several minutes I spent trying to make it load the mission. This doesn't feel like a bug, it feels more like user error/good ol' fashion PEBKAC. Help me out here, brothers...

Thanks for reminder to verify--I should'a done that myself. Unfortunately, it didn't find anything corrupt/missing and no love getting a mission to load.

I game on win10, but I didn't notice DRG has *nix support under Proton. My desktop is setup dual boot and my laptop is only running arch, so I'll try installing DRG on one of those and see if anything changes.

Just to sanity-check myself here:
-Go to mission temrinal at base and pick mission.
-At the list with "Join", "Host Public", etc, I pick solo
-Audio clip about "drop pod ready" or "Get to your pod" plays
-I hop in the pod with my username over it, next to the medbay entrance.
-I sit around in pod, hit tab to look for a "go" or "Launch" button, wait some more, nothing happens

I keep thinking there's a "ready-up" button I'm missing somewhere, so I double checked my config and confirmed that all UI elements are enabled... Kinda scratching my head, because when I played the tutorial it just worked. The only thing that's changed is I bought the supporter pack. Maybe I'll try playing the tutorial again...

The pod, is the HUGE rocket in the middle of the station, not the little room with your name over it!

Yeah, the drop pod is the big ol' rocket Burgzaza spoke of, not one of the four little rooms you spawn into when you load from the main menu/join an unstarted mission.

Yeah, I played the tutorial a couple months ago, but was promptly sucked into quick-fix dopamine hits with wave [auto-]shooters. Came back to DRG when I noticed the sale and snagged the supporter pack, but clearly did not have brain engaged. In the meantime I got a pretty good feel for that (new?) kick-the-barrel-into-the-hoop game.

Welp, at least I can say I was right about something--root cause of issue was definitely between my keyboard and chair. Thanks again, folks!
