The barrel hoop game is a grind against RNG and has nothing to do with skill

Almost 1000 hours in DRG and I have once again just given up on the barrel hoop achievement.

The ring accelerating suddenly after the barrel was already kicked, bugged kicks that send the barrel tumbling over the edge instead of flying, the bonus point timer resetting while the barrel is still bouncing on the hoop and ending just before it falls in.
Did you ever wonder why everyone cheats it with beer mugs?

It's because the game has nothing to do with skill, it's like one of those rigged arcade machines.
The hoop game is a gamble, do you get lucky or does it just screw you over?

I am not going to sink hours over hours into it until I get one lucky run when I can just cancel 19/20 attempts before reaching 500 points because I already know I won't get the achievement anymore.

It doesn't work like that.
The problem is the hoop randomly changing speed at any point after reaching the end.
So I kick the barrel, the hoop reaches the end, suddenly changes speed and the barrel doesn't go through.
It's nothing but a rug pull mechanic, it is bad.

I did the achievement the proper way because this game is one of maybe 5 total (among the ones I own) where it's actually worth doing the achievements. But I also had friends on so they got the achievement as well by dropping a barrel each into the loop specifically so they wouldn't have to do it the proper way themselves.

No, the hoop ONLY ever changes speed when it hits the left wall. That’s why you kick it when it’s bouncing back from the right.

I can see why you’d be frustrated if you’ve been attempting to kick the barrel in after it hits the left wall and changes speed.

If you really wanted the achievment so badly, you would have allready gotten it. It is difficult yes but with enough patience you can easily do it. You just need to try more and not give up after you fail it 1 or more times.

The “bugged kicks” only happen when it does the little bounce after a new barrel lands. Wait until it has settled before kicking.

Nothing to do with RNG... if you can hit, the few misses it'll "force" you to make won't matter.

Look up how to do it on youtube, there's probably something you've misunderstood about the rules of hoops.

Trust me, it is perfectly possible, I got it after my first try trying it seriously (Going for 3000 score). Speed only changes it hits the spring on the left.
