Okay, I refuse to believe new enemies werent whipped up in the last week.
Septic Spreader... Literally can cover large areas in high damage goo (that halves your framerate, mkay) while being completely out of sight. Get 2 of those behind some rocks on Salvage refueling and enjoy complete disaster worse than a bulk detonator. Atleast you can kill the bulk, these things... can't kill what you can't see.

They also have completely broken line of sight check (because someone REALLY wanted them to lob over obstacles) and most of the time they end up spamming shots while hugging the wall, and its the only reason its so difficult to notice how much ground they can cover THIS quickly.

Stingtail is a broken mess. And it getting major rebalances and fixes to it literally crashing your game when performing it's one ond only attack literally one day before the update release only proves that.

And instead it now just simply has a 99% chance to instantly down the dwarf it grabs, because of broken physics, as poor dwarf will get flinged anywhere in the cave at 4th mach.
That is, if player's literal actor entitiy doesnt get deleted out of the game, this SURELY is better than a game crash, right? Right?!

I refuse to believe that THIS was worked on for longer than a few evenings, especially considering how hacky the mechanics are AND THEY STILL DONT WORK PROPERLY.

We already have working grabbers. Several. We already have enemies that lob projectiles. They work. This whole update is a broken mess. Mess, that encapsulates everything annoying the game has OCCASIONALLY, and makes it a norm.

Just what the actual...

Save your funny clown awards, give them to some poor beggar in the comments. I am not writing this "for ez points", Im just venting out everything I see about the update.

idk, aside from the ceiling grab issue from the stingtail and it's fast attack cooldown I think the 2 new glyphids are some of the better enemies made

Yea, I've not had any technical issues concerning the new enemies. Stingtails seem to work perfectly for me as well as those I play with, and the spreaders may seem unbalanced now but I think they'll fit nicely into a better difficulty curve once people have had time to digest it.

You can leave the zone... It also increases the importance of prepping the area you are going to defend from to remove obstacles that block line of sight before starting the defense objectives.

Sure, that takes time but now they've increased the potential cost of a lack of preparation.

Eh; i only saw spreaders in 1 game out of 6 today and theyre so squishy they barely got a chance to shoot. Sting tails in most games and got grabbed like 10 times but none of them were lethal. TO ME.

I had a few sting tails, however they make such a rather audible spawn cue that should immediately be tipping you off that they're around, similar to how the Mactera Grabber makes a rather audible cue when it goes to grab someone, so people can hear it coming and prepare.
Isn't there a saying that even goes something like this "if you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail"

If you jump when it grapples you, it will throw off the yank back and you'll just end up flying over it instead of into it.

6 hours late response and good morning to everyone...

I have seen them WAY too many times. And yes, most of the time they are okay-ish. They simply die before they get to do anything too horrible.

But then you see the entire ground is covered in goo and all you can see is this goo being flinged over from a cliff that you can not climb whatsoever, unless you are a scout. This is screwed up on several levels.

Stingtail is cool. When it works, instead of suddenly yeeting you into the ground and instagibbing. And it doesn't work most of the time. Devs really didn't bother here, it feels like this whole attack system was being thrown together at the last moment.

+1 on the framerate point, can't play normally when septic spreaders are in the mission, same for contagion spikes, hope this gets some attention
also stingtail once teleported me to another end of the cave one time through the wall so there's that

+1 on Septic spreaders. Most missions, they feel fine.
Salvage missions however, they're so incredibly annoying I wonder how they haven't been disabled for that mission type.
They're a smaller groundbound goo bomber that turns an already cramped defensive area into the most lethal game of "the floor is lava".
It's worse than goo bomber because at least with goo bomber, you can still play around it(take unstoppable, pop the sacks before killing it, accept that you're going to be slowed down).
If you're unlucky enough to have a spreader spawn above the zone? Hope you didn't like standing in the zone.
Remarkably, even stingtails aren't this much of a problem compared to spreaders, just kill the stingtail and run back to the zone.
Spreaders just feel like a big ♥♥♥♥ you.

I would imagine in the case of salvage that the main issue is that they have the same charged attack as the driller does and can cover the entire area with one shot.

You know what's crazy? Spreaders are just as susceptible to death as stingtails are. If you have a scout standing outside the zone providing cover then they're basically no threat whatsoever.
