Your best bet is probably the "Technical DRG" Discord channel/community. There's "official" info about the Custom Difficulty 2 (CD2) pak (from the mod devs), how to install it using MINT, how to use it generally, and dedicated download links for popular custom difficulties like Haz 6, 6x2, 7x2, 5x2 Fire, 8, 8x1.5, 8x2, and so on. Of course, since everyone can create custom difficulties, there's also some really crazy stuff out there.
I'd suggest sticking to those which can be played by clients (other players) without any special mods installed. Be sure to inform joining players about the added difficulty. It's easy to do with the "server name" mod for example, which dynamically changes your lobby name to also indicate the currently selected custom difficulty, for example.
I'd suggest starting by trying the "5x2 Fire" series, e.g. Fire X or Fire XP if you want a challenge. It's Haz 5 base so not too crazy to start with but it has double enemy swarms and MANY more disruptive enemies and MUCH more enemy variety, it feels quite different to regular Haz 5 where you can almost foretell which mobs will spawn ("grunt wave plus praetorian here, 2 spreaders over there..."). By using Fire X you get Hazard 7 style timings on top of that (i.e. faster waves), and by using Fire XP you get Hazard 7 style grunt pressure constantly on top of that. That's tough.
Apart from that there are also other mods in combination with certain custom difficulties which change drastically more, e.g. also intorudce new types of grunts for example. But to play those, you need additional mods. and others who join your game probably also need those. So it's not as compatible. You can find info about that at the same Discord channel above.
