Deep Rock Galactic
Let me tell you a tale, (joke not serious)
As a child, I would sit at the edge of my city, where the skyscrapers met the scorching mountains, and I’d stare longingly at the towering peaks. While others dreamt of the sunlit skies or the endless oceans, my dreams were forged deep within the stone. I yearned for the mines, the lifeblood of our people. My tiny hands would clutch a toy pickaxe my father had carved for me, and I’d swing it at every tree, every rock, imagining veins of gold and luminous crystals bursting forth.

I would hear the tales the elders told by the lamplight—of the Driller carving paths through the uncharted stone and unsuspecting scouts, of the Gunner standing tall against swarms of Glyphids and consuming all the ammo, and of the Engineer’s turrets lighting up the caverns like constellations firing at enemies four miles away from the rest of the team. The Scout with their tales of navigating unseen heights, uncovering treasures hidden and skydiving to the ground head first. I wanted to be all of them, embodying their courage, ingenuity, and unwavering resolve.

Now, as I stand within the mines for real, pickaxe in hand, those childhood dreams feel like they’ve been etched into the very walls around me. The echoes of my past yearnings align with the present cries of “Rock and Stone!” as I step deeper into the heart of Hoxxes. My path was set long ago, and I will honor it with every swing, every step, every shout of triumph. For Hoxxes, for the legends, and for the child who dared to dream of the mines.

The first time I stood at the yawning entrance of my drop pod, the names of legends whispered in my mind: Scout, Engineer, Gunner, and Driller—the finest among us, heroes of stone and minerals. My heart pounded, not out of fear, but out of a deep yearning to one day be counted among their ranks.

As I stepped inside the mine for the first time, I imagined their voices echoing around me, guiding me through my first swing of the pickaxe. The jagged walls of the cavern seemed to hum with energy, a living testament to the courage and skill of those who had come before. “For Deep Rock” I cried, my voice trembling with pride. But no sooner had the words left my mouth than something far stronger surged from within me: “ROCK AND STONE!” The gunner looked at me and smiled smashing his flask of skull crusher against my gun in toast and told me words of wisdom i'l never forget "IF YOU DON'T ROCK AND STONE!, YOU AIN'T COMING HOME!". To this day i live and breath by those words.

Perhaps one day, I’ll earn the right to work shoulder to shoulder with names like Scout, Engineer, Gunner, and Driller and call them my lads. For now, every swing of my pickaxe brings me closer, each call of “Rock and Stone!” weaving me into the tapestry of our company. Hoxxes demands respect, courage, and skill—and I will give it all that and more. i was born to rock and stone and i will die in the rock and stone until that day my lust for the mines is sated in the depths of Hoxxes now and forever.
