All DLC is optional and with no gameplay-affecting features.
The season battlepasses are free with the base game. They affect gameplay by changing up spawn rates to reflect the season they were released. Any progress in a season battlepass is saved when you change to a different season, and you can resume progress when you swap back.
The Only Really Good DLC To Have Early On, Say After a Week Or Two Of Playing,
Is the Original Supporter's DLC (One, Not Two) That Gives You Gold Armor Colors, But More Importantly Gold and Brown Weapon Skins, Which Look Good For a Variety Of Weapons,
But Especially To Better Match Driller's Yellow Coloring
You Also Get a Smattering Of Fun Little Trinkets
I'd Also Recommend the Dark Future and Megacorp DLCs Later On- Those Are
Some Of the Earlier DLCs, and Give 4 Good Armor Sets, Great Weapon Skin Variety,
and a Black/Grey Color For Weapons That Make Many Of Them Look Nice
