Deep Rock Galactic
Possible switch 2 release?
I think the game would do great on that console, perhaps even rogue core too.

That depends on the Switch 2's hardware, since that was what was preventing it from releasing on the Switch.

The switch 2 is looking pretty good so far, getting both elden ring and cyberpunk 2077.
if it can handle cyberpunk, odds are good that it can handle DRG as well. the question isnt whether they can it's if they should

DRG isn't a good fit for the portable console experience. putting aside the obvious fact that you can't play coop whilst outdoors due to no internet, DRG missions usually take 20-30 minutes and require a fair bit of commitment to complete. yeah you can pause in solo but you can't save progress mid-level

theres a reason the game hasnt been verified on steam deck. it runs just fine and is perfectly playable but DRG just doesn't work in a portable ethos. it's not like stardew valley or fallout or balatro where you can just pull it out, play for 5-10 mins and then put it away with no commitment
would love to see this on switch 2,,, what if it even had splitscreen?!?!?!?!?! could be awesome and help justify the second purchase!

Some very good points, i only play my switch at home and mostly while docked, so i did not think on that angle. However, the switch 2 has some cool new features that i think would do well with DRG, like game share.
nintendo online would make it so you have to pay a monthly subscription just to play the game the way 95% of people do

Pretty much the same issue on the other consoles though.
oh boy I can't wait to have switch-wielding console kiddies joining my DRG games
It would be the only cheap game on switch 2 bcos GSG are my bois. I would buy both Rock and Core
hopefully not, consoles are for casual scrubs. Hopefully it also wont be cross platform, because the thought of console peasants joining my game sickens me
DRG is 100% doable on Switch 2 and a good fit for it once they come with OLED screens for it. Only a matter if GSG can or will figure out how to port it over to Switch, or get a new studio to do it for them - hardware specs is no longer an excuse after all.

I think you'll get as many of them as you do Playstation/Xbox kids.
And by that I mean is this game crossplay? Why isn't this game crossplay? They should make this game crossplay. Can I crossplay? When's crossplay? Hey devs can you make this game crossplay? I'd like crossplay. Is there crossplay? Have the devs considered crossplay? Some games have crossplay, this game should too. And a million more threads.
this is good game

That's a non issue, honestly. It says it's not verified specifically cause the text is small and for chatting it brings up the keyboard. Those are the only reasons It's not verified. I play it all the time on my steam deck and I have paused mid game and put it into sleep mode with no issue and the switch does/can do the same. If you don't have the time to commit 20-30 minutes to a mission that's more of a personal issue than a game/switch issue. The game would work perfectly on the switch.

arguments like small text and keyboard usage are just excuses. they could fix those if they were interested in a steam deck port, but they aren't because i believe they also know the game wouldn't fit the deck's typical usage patterns
i said already you can play solo and pause, but DRG is a coop game at heart and solo is not the intended way to play, it's just a formality. the game is not designed around solo play. they're not going to get verified status just for the benefit of solo players

compare this to DRG survivor, which was designed from the start to be a singleplayer game, and is already deck verified before even leaving early access. there's a much clearer intent there, and it makes sense, survivor is one of the most-played games on deck. DRG is far less popular on deck, for reasons already stated

not to mention, DRG is extremely visually dark, forget ever playing it outdoors in the daytime, you can't see anything even max brightness
There won't be any crossplay, so Switch players will be left playing with just other Switch players who own DRG; I don't imagine the player count would be very healthy.
