Deep Rock Galactic
best loadout for scout?
ill keep it short, im a lvl 100 player, scout has 80% of my promotions, from a strictly mathematical perspective, what weapons and overclocks are the best for scout? I dont own all the OC's for scout, but I do own a lot- id say even most. there is no wrong answer, I appreciate advice, I just wanna be a good teammate and not annoy the others. I know that no matter what scout cant be a better wave clearer then the others, but when running scout apart from high priority targets, I wanna be able to hold my own. I can hold my own with any other class, but scout feels like a hit and run class.

if you are a high lvl scout, feel free to tell me what loadout and oc's you like using best! its not only a matter of maths and numbers, but also playstyles! maybe your pro gamerness will give me some good ideas.

thats the end of the question, but if you want you can also read my present loadout:
Presently I have my scout as a speedy medic with (deep breath) hipster on the m1000 (I like not running out of ammo) and I also use the shotgun with the OC that fires both at once (maybe overkill, but satisfying) I have field medic, and then dash as the main perks, and passive perks are for faster carrying speed, and faster running when running consistently.

am very sorry if this isnt clear enough, I am sleepy and about to head for bed, just wanted to post this before I forgot.

unrelated and somewhat off topic appreciation for DRG (sorry not sorry!):
I really like DRG, its actually my #1 fave game, and ive played a lot of missions, deep dives and such, and 90% of the time, the sense of teamwork and the emotion that can only be described as "ROCK AND STONE" are great. the gameplay loop is fun, and theres no credits to buy with real money- just in game money and in game stuff to find. the grind is well balanced, and each step feels impactful. i really appreciate the devs and the hard work they have put into the game and also I appreciate the players of deep rock for being good sports and considerate- from the time I was a lvl 1 to now, as a lvl 100, the community of DRG has been great and very helpful to me! no matter how many revives I needed, they never left me behind.

you have the right mentality, at least, this is a good start

drop hipster for something like active stability system or minimal clips, build BCABB. you don't need to have a lot of ammo if you can just one-shot everything
alternatively run electric focus shots with ACBBA. just the electrocution on its own is enough to kill even trijaws with a focus to their weakspots, as well as every other special enemy scout should be focusing. EFS is much easier to use and lets you safely take comfort mods like ammo and mag size, and whilst you have to wait for your enemy to die to electrocution, you can mitigate this somewhat with the stun mod

outside of that: AISE GK2 is a potent generalist that is also very easy to use, whilst enabling aggressive playstyles due to a lack of movement-induced shot bloom. run BABAB for max DPS or AABAB for improved range
OFM and electric reload are also good on GK2 but are more niche

DRAK's only worthwhile build is thermal exhaust feedback with CBAAB (though i prefer CBACA for the armour break and consistent RoF)
it's hard to use but is capable of extremely high damage output when heat is managed correctly. it also ignites enemies

as for secondaries: boomstick is good with anything, boltshark is good with cryo bolts and pheromones and just ok outside of that. avoid zhukovs like the plague

The only real knowledge I can provide from my experience is that the Double Barrel OC goes hard. It feels like 90% of Scouts I've seen run Special Powder, but damn does DB slap. Especially with a x5.5 shock wave AoE damage bonus. Feels good getting up close and personal especially with larger swarms and blasting them to kingdom come (deliverance)!

In general when it comes to most of my class builds, I tend to focus as much of my upgrades and OCs on damage as I can. I'm fine with increased spread and recoil, smaller magazine size, etc., so long as each bullet individually hits like a freight train.

Scout Is My 'Least' Favorite Of the 4 Classes, But He Still Rocks, and I Play a Ton Of Solo,
and Scout Has To Juke A Lot More, But He Still Does Great

ANY Of His 6 Weapons Are Viable, In Any Combination, But I'd List My 'Classics' As-
-GK2 and Boomstick
-M1000 and Nuks
-Drak and Boomstick

With the Crossbow Being A Surprisingly Great Weapon (I Thought At First It Would Suck)
The GK2 and Crossbow Goes Well Toghether, With Again, Any Choice Of OCs Or the
3 Special Bolts- Personally, I'm Somewhat In the Minority and Use the Exploding Chemical Bolts and 'The Specialist' OC

What Seems Like a 'Bad' Pairing At First, Ammo Capacity Wise, Is the M1000 and Boomstick, But Once You're Good With Both, They're Quite Nice- I Call That Pairing My 'Big Game Hunter' Setup, As It Brought To Mind 'Old Style Rifles Only' Like European Hunters In 1800's Africa, and I Used It For Praes, Oppressors and Dreads On Elimination, But The Combo Kills Everything Smoothly

Lots Of Nice OC Choices, But BY FAR My Favorite Is The AISE For the GK2,
It Just Completely Changed the Way I Played Scout and Just Kicks Ass-
THAT IS Semi-'Easy' To Go With Though, and There Are Other Nice OCs For the GK2-
Same With All the Other OCs, So I Won't Get Into Any More- Find and Use What You Enjoy

Grenades, Go With Whatever, But I Always Use the IFG/Originals With Any Setup

The Big Help Is Solo With Bosco- I Use the IFGs To Concentrate a Mass Of Enemies and Then Rocket Blast Them- It's An Extra 'Explosive Attack' That I Always Miss and Forget I Don't Have When I Switch To Playing With a Team- There's Always That First Time I Toss An IFG, Then Click M2 On My Mouse 2-3 Times, Wondering Why a Rocket Isn't Killing Things,
Then I Go "Oh Yeah, No Bosco, DER"

Just make sure it's a crit build, I'm so sick of everybody staring at eachother when it comes to taking down stationary enemies like spitballers and swarmer nests. I spent forever running Hurricane and clearing this junk, only to change guns and realize nobody else ever clears it!

I have tryed a lot of scout build but a lot of them have there own gimmick. however there is one build thats tried and true in any mission type haz 5+. The build is

DeepCore GK2
OC: AI Stability Engine 3,2,2,2,3

Jury-Rigger Boomstick
OC: Shaped Shells 1,1,2,1,3

With its ability to deal damage at long range without spread the GK2 excels at removing threats to your team from afar wile still packing the punch to deal with larger bugs. With the added armor break it makes dealing with Stingtales, Shellback and armor Mactara a breeze.

As for the boom stick, I use it to kill grunt groups. Super Blowthrough Rounds combo with the OC you will be killing 2 more more grunts per shot.

AISE stands for AI Stability Engine, which is the overclock you just mentioned for the GK2.
