Can't deny that exploring a Dwarka-like route would interest me, though; especially if it had slightly darker tones compared to base DRG.
DRG is already a solid good game that many players enjoy, so I don't think there's a need for making a second game and divide the playerbase.
Overwatch 2 is one of those examples.
So When DRG Came Along, and I Discovered and Sank Immediately Into It Back In Nov 2018, I Was Like, "Damn This Is FABULOUS", But In a Space Miner Setting, With Guns, Explosions, and Fighting Insectoid Bugs Rather Than Goblins Or Orcs- Add In the Excellent Use Of Darkness, Flares, and Sounds, and DRG Is Like No Other Game Out There
So I Would Like MORE- If You Want To Call It 'DRG 2', What Rogue Core Ends Up Being,
Or Something Else- If These Developers Make It, I'll Check It Out- I've Stated Many Times In Other Posts, That For Those Really Wanting 'DRG 2', I Felt the Game was Excellent and Near 'Complete' As Far Back As Early 2020- The Devs Have Added So Much That In Reality,
WE ARE PLAYING 'DRG 4' At Least
The Only Thing Maybe Lacking, and I've Suggested In the Past, Is That While the Enemy Focus Should Still Be Hoxxes and Glyphid/Mactera/Insectoid/Bug Based, Is That Now That We Have Had Rivals/Robots, Rockpox, and Core Spawn, Is That There Should Possibly
Be a 10% Chance Per Mission, Regardless Of Type, That 1-3 Rickity Drop Pods Come Down and Squads Of Goblin Raiders Show Up To Fight- They Would Have Guns, Rockets, and Explosives (But Nowhere Near As Good As Ours) and Be Somewhat Numerous, Say 10-20 Per Pod, So Possibly Up To 60, Maybe a Few Bigger Orcs Leading Them, Yet Still Be Able To Be Defeated, Maybe Easily, With Good Team Cohesion and Skill- As Numerous As, Probably Even Less Than, a Standard Grunt Swarm, With Guns, But We Could Trounce Them 90% Of the Time (Unless It Was Haz 5 Or Higher, Then Well, Wackiness) - Just To Toss In the Old 'Dwarf vs Goblin' Vibe, Yet Any Encounters Would Be On the Rare Side, Like Dreadnoughts Showing Up On Any Mission
DRG 2, as you say "bigger better drg".
I think both will be great, but I would like to make a short assessment.
What makes DRG so great is that it has an original and unique concept. It has a beautiful theme that intertwines science fiction and fantasy. The fact that the main characters are Dwarves is also a very logical and good choice. The swearing and war cries of the dwarves in those scary caves for fun make the game completely different.
I would like to see DRG 2 because it would be a game where the difficulty of the code restriction is not there or is less. In this way, we would get more extensive content and a much bigger and more comprehensive game. At the same time, the DRG universe is very interesting in terms of lore. I would like to see how the story will shape with Rogue Core and how this will be reflected in the lore of DRG 2. In short, DRG 2 = More lore, more weapons, more builds, more classes (maybe), more skill trees, more gear, more side content, more main content, more new mechanics, more enemy and boss variety. In other words, a much broader and much better version of the original game. A complete sequel.
It would be nice to see a game that is a prequel to DRG, but it's not just a fantasy game, it's a game with the same concept but the technology is not as advanced but it is there. I'm not sure exactly how that would be. It could be a game where laser guns and drones are not prominent yet, for example.
My idea is to have DRG 2. Because we already have a game that is ready. Both mechanically and conceptually. It already has a lot of content ready. DRG 2 would be easier for the developers to make and they wouldn't have to redesign everything. DRG's prequel would have forced them to redesign the entire concept, which would be a huge cost and burden.
For all of this, I would say DRG 2.

Aslo, Dwarka idea is so cool. However as I said, this requires a lot of effort. I would have liked to see this game more after DRG 2.
I'm with Bookslayer on this one, I mean..Vermitide was neat and all but I'm way more into Sci-fi than fantasy.
Maybe if it was more Steam punk-ish?
DRG is good because hits a spot between being an average day blue collar worker getting ♥♥♥♥ done and a marine that kills ♥♥♥♥.
I don't know what Dwarka is and I frankly don't care what it is, but if it being a fantasy setting means that we will be equipped with worse gear, that would take away from feeling like a badass, unless of course the weapons got some magic ♥♥♥♥ in them, which is not very dwarven at all.
Conversely a bigger and better DRG would just mean leaning more over to making the dwarves either real marines or pilots of heavy duty machines, which takes away the feeling of being an average worker.
Too many games tries to either make you the biggest baddest of asses out there or a total weakling, and I'm tired of seeing both of them. Unless there's a more solid interpretation of what either of those choices in OP means, I am not picking either of them.
I doubt they'll ever capture the same essence twice. So neither of these propositions seems appealing.
I'm plenty satisfied with what we have now, and if anything had to be done, it'd be polishing DRG before moving on to other projects.
The exact same game, except Molly is a real mule
