Are the singleplayer missions still so long?
I want to get back to this game, it was fun, but 1 simple mission took between 1.5 - 2 hours... so it was really too much, otherwise I liked the game. Is is fixed, or?

Were you doing the mission blindfolded? An average mission shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. I'd be genuinely surprised if you did do a mission in 2 hours, since you should have run out of ammo within the first 40 minutes.

I remember I was like level 6-7 ..engineer, leveling took days... and one mission took me between 1 and 2 hours.. maps were huge. 20 minuts? I would be happy if its the case, that will be fully acceptable, but it was not the case, really.

There’s an achievement for spending an hour down in a single mission, but people have to be really trying to get that one.

i did one in 4 minutes in a HUGE CAVE

There's also an achievement for completing a Deep Dive in under 45 minutes. A Deep Dive is 3 missions back to back to back.

Are you confusing assignments for missions? Assignments are made up of 4-6 missions and they don't need to be done in one sitting. Missions (maps) should take anywhere from 10-40 minutes depending on the mission type, length, and difficulty. If in doubt, join random games at Hazard 3-4 which will usually see missions done faster than solo, especially when you are new. Though if you want to skip things like machine events and optional generated events then solo can be faster once you know the ropes.

Starting out you'll spend longer because you won't know what needs to be done and how to do it efficiently. Playing with others you will learn by example how to churn through missions more efficiently. Some missions benefit greatly from different classes. For instance doing a refinery mission without a driller can be a VERY time consuming choice.

Single mission should take 15-30 minutes on average for solo or group for Length 2 if focusing the main objective only; 20-40 for Length 3 missions. If you are taking longer, I am assuming you are getting bad terrain and/or doing searching for secondary (optional) objectives that had poor generation.

thanks guys, I will try it again
I think if you watch a single video on some dude doing a haz 5. you might pick up some tricks to make the missions go faster on haz1 or haz2.

Some tips for playing solo that will hopefully help you as a new player:
- Ping minerals to make Bosco mine them for you, so you dont waste time climbing up places. This also works on things buried in the rock
- Dont play Gunner solo, the mobility just isnt good enough. All other classes find traversal way easier
- As said, just play some coop, the community is really friendly and youll see how existing players do it, most missions take 15 minutes unless something REALLY goes wrong, it will obviously take longer solo but not as long as youve been experiencing.

Missions taking over an hour is a symptom of a skill issue in terms of cave navigation. We all went through that when we started. As the skill issue subsides, missions should take less and less time until you reach an average of 20 minutes per mission.
Playing Coop and sticking with your team to get the hangs of the game also helps mitigating that.

If you often get lost in the caves, remember you can press CTRL+E to set up a waypoint. It's a permanent marker that is visible in your map. So if you found a dirt patch and don't want to dig it yet but you're afraid you'll forget where it is, press CTRL+E on it and come back later

In Solo play, longer missions can run up to the 1 hour mark (max-length Mining or Sabotage come to mind), but never 2 hours. 20-30 minutes is probably average, but you're not going to be pulling off one of those 5-minute Egg/Aquarq missions that you could with a full team.
