Point Extraction Bug is back? Any known fixes?
There was only a very brief period of time where this bug did not seem to be present, I noticed it a year or so ago, and it has been consistently a problem EXCLUSIVELY for event based missions on point extraction.

I understand PE waves are intended to ramp up the longer you're there, I am not talking about that. What I am talking about is not an intended feature, and is a well known bug at this point. I only ever encounter with on PE missions that are part of a seasonal event assignments. Once the first wave hits, they do not stop spawning, there is not an ounce of breathing room, there is around 10/15 new glyphids spawning every 15 seconds or so, and it is next to impossible to actually work around them much less keep up on them.

Any other encounter with point extraction missions does not result in this issue, it is exclusive to event assignments, I never bother trying them on hazard 3, because even hazard 2 on an event assignment PE mission is bordering on unplayable because there is not even a 5 second period of time where an insect is not making contact with me.

I just wondered if there is any known fix or cause for this issue? I do have mods but this occurs whether they're enabled or not. And I'm fairly certain I've been experiencing this issue long before I started to download them. Is there maybe a specific mod linked to this issue occurring anybody knows about?

I know how PE is supposed to work, I have over 400hrs in the game, I have gone through many many PE missions. The literal only time it behaves this way is on event assignment missions. PE does not under any other normal circumstance cause endless waves of 40+ individuals within 3 minutes of dropping in.

Kill bugs faster. There's always unannounced mini swarm spawning now and then.

So what, you have 500hrs and not even everyone golden promoted yet. Man, you haven't even played Haz4 enough - according to your statistics. Where did you spent most of your playtime - in a spacerig or Haz2, Haz3 difficulties? IF so, then no wonder you can't cope with respawning swarms in PE.
I have played quite a bit of this game and I can say that I have experienced this a few times as well, though not within the past 6 months or so. Unfortunately, you are complaining in the wrong place. I am not even sure that GSG reads these forums anymore, and even if they did, it's not the correct place to notify them of a bug.

My best advice is to file an official bug report, it's the best and only real way you're going to get any attention on the subject.

I've yet to see this famous "bug".
Would be helpful to have some video evidence of it, for the bug report.

You have. The "bug" is that the game spawns bugs for you to shoot. ¯_(ツ)_¯

Not a bug, that's normal: once the refinery is done, you get an infinite swarms until you leave the mission.

Yeah that's a bug that I experienced what... 2-3 times at most with my 400-500 hours of gameplay.

It's even because if that bug that I stopped playing the Point Extraction missions when I was starting to play DRG with randoms, cause I thought it was part of the mission type.

It's probably due to the host, even if I can't remember anything specific about it, like lag or whatever.

That's not a bug. The point extraction missions are SO-VERY-NERFED version of the previous PE missions from some years ago.

Now there is nitra everywhere on these maps.

To compare : the old PE versions, at 20+min on haz5 (normal version), you were fighting way more many bugs than the haz5+ atm.


So, 100% intended feature.

Is it? I've never experienced what the OP is describing, where there's no breathing room in-between waves from the very start of the mission.

Can't say I remember this ever being a thing except that one patch where PE waves were indeed bugged.

outside of that, it's very unlikely OP has experienced any sort of bug, and the issue can either be found in mods not properly turning off (Swarm control LOVES to do that), players not disposing of bugs efficiently or just not paying attention to what's happening to them and overexaggerating the issue.

Happened to me also few times on Hazard 5. Very irritating.
Never seen this "bug" happen in the half a decade or more I've been playing this game.

Until I see actual proof, I'm sorry; but I'm gonna chalk this up to:

Starting PE spawns + Ever increasing ambient PE spawns +You not killing fast enough = "Infinite wave."
