The only gun I use on him...
You are right. The other guns are nothing in comparison in my humbe oppinion.
Warthog: will see you through hell and back. Quite possibly the best gun in the game.
LOK-1: the meme option. If it looks dumb to you, it is. HOWEVER. It can be tuned into a second grenade launcher to compliment your other grenade launcher. That one particular build is extremely powerful and solves practical problems. The only downside is it can't interact with your sentry guns in any way. And sentry guns are the real primary.
That's how Engis rake in 1500+ frags.
Engi + gunner = power extreme, however. They just work together so well. Other classes don't play nice with a team. Driller is sigma grind Chad and Scout is an Scout.
Every piece of Engie's kit is a weapon and is easily to utilize to its fullet, so if you play well with Engie and use every bit of your kit, your primary weapon is a smaller fraction of your power compared to other classes. (Driller has the second most weaponized kit, but it's not purely weaponized because of the utility... and he's unable to multi-task his kit.)
If you think your primary sucks, swap out the secondary weapon/build.
