That said, this is great news for anyone who doesn't run Nvidia.
I'll have to give it a try sometime.
Quality is between DLSS3 and DLSS4.
FSR doesn't require any specific hardware like the dedicated tensor cores on RTX cards to run though? Thus not a hardware oriented solution. It works for any graphics card, it's purely software.
Unless there is something different about the 4th version? In which case, does it require an AMD/Radeon card to work? Does it work for Nvidia RTX cards? Who can actually use this?
Yeah, FSR 4 is only supported on the latest AMD cards (currently 9070 and 9070 XT, which were just released last week).
Oh, so I guess I can't really compare the performance of both then haha.
Still, good news for the people who have those cards and play DRG I guess? Doesn't seem like it would be many people though.
Well, no, not too many so far, since the cards were literally released just 5 days ago.
Would they even have had time to ship yet lol? x D
By "released", I meant went on sale in stores (not just announced). They supposedly started actually shipping to stores back in January, and built up a decent supply, at least in some areas. Reports are that there were a lot more here in the US than most other parts of the world. And even here, it wasn't nearly enough, because they sold out pretty quickly (or more or less instantly, in some cases).
Well maybe someone who has one will come by and tell us what they think of the performance in DRG.
I find better video with comparison https://youtu.be/Jg41sT8sAuY
