Eye Strains, Migraines and Head- aches...
If you are having problems with straning eyes/having headaches, try enabling the Photosensitivity Mode and disabling Bloom. The first one is in the game Options itself; the second one can be done through this video guide. Disabling bloom really helped!

And i do wish the devs include "Disable bloom" in game. Cheers!

So why Necro two post from several years ago if you’re just gonna add your own thread?

There’s a non-0% chance some people in those threads are dead.

Idk, some people from the original thread might be subscribed to that post but not to all drg posts. This kinda stuff helps people more than it hinders you. I'd rather have more availability of this kind of info at the cost of... I dunno, adding one more discussion to the 26,000+ discussions.

Suppose that's fair. Was also kinda odd necroing a pretty random thread like that, lol...

Good tips, I found allot of my issues came from squinting too much. And the light was no issue at all, it was a misnomer.

Counter intuitively going with larger and brighter screens solved allot of my issues.

I’ve had issues if I didn’t have at least a semi lit room and a super bright screen but also just playing for too long will give me eyestrain.

This solution worked for me and reduced eye strain massively.

PART ONE

1. Navigate to:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini"

2. Open Engine.ini

3. At the top, underneath the line DisplayGamma=x, hit enter and copy-paste these lines.

[SystemSettings]
r.BloomQuality=0
r.LensFlareQuality=0
fx.MaxCPUParticlesPerEmitter=6
fx.EnableNiagaraSpriteRendering=0

Turning off bloom and lens flare and reducing the max number of particles with the first three settings respectively will make the game much easier on the eyes. "NiagaraSpriteRendering" is the sparkling effect created by the corrosive sludge pump.

PART TWO (optional, but I HIGHLY recommend the first mod that changes neon flare lights to natural white emitted light-- this helped me greatly).

Download these mods in-game through mod.io (descending importance):

1. https://mod.io/g/drg/m/white-throwing-flares (This mod makes all throwing flares emit white light.)

2. https://mod.io/g/drg/m/no-camera-shake (This mod removes ALL camera shake)

3. https://mod.io/g/drg/m/clutterbegone (This mod removes a lot of flora and visual clutter in caves.)

4. https://mod.io/g/drg/m/removed-frozen-death-fire-death-particles (This mod removes fire and frozen death particles.)

5. https://mod.io/g/drg/m/removed-terrain-destruction-particles (This mod removes some terrain destruction particles, most importantly the dust clouds created by the Driller's drills.)

Hope this helps you continue Rocking and Stoning without headaches and eye strain!
