Sludge pump dreadnought builds?
Title, looking for something new to try. I don't usually use driller for dreadnoughts because I don't like having to rely on my team to add to the damage with cryo, and I kind of find the flamethrower to be a bit boring.

can't go wrong with sludge blast
turn your brain off and spam charge shots

VIM is also good but I prefer the sludge blast

What would you recommend for a secondary? Sludge blast is definitely what I'm going with.

I usually just throw in the wave cooker with cotangion transmitter to stack extra debuffs

Sludge+Wave Cooker Necromancer debuff build FTW.

I take Sludge Blast with Persistent Plasma

I usually opt for Disperser Compound and Subata with the last tier mod that amplifies damage on enemies under the effect of corrosion; works pretty well on H4.

sludge blast OC is a must and the only reason I can enjoy Elimination on Driller; past that, your secondary can be anything depending on what you need. If you go sludge blast, take the magazine size upgrade on the sludgepump over the faster projectile speed; you sacrifice some reach that way but dreads are usually in your face anyway and you'll appreciate being able to hammer out as many charge shots as possible to guarantee you get at least 1/3 HP of normal/hiveguard during their respective openings.

Subata for convenience against other targets; tranq rounds OC will slow dreads even if they're immune to stun
EPC TCF for pretty much everything as usual, but especially Hiveguard's armor phase and the Persistent Plasma OC is a pretty nice "get these swarmers/naedocytes off me" button when exploring. You can't go wrong with Burning Nightmare + Heavy Hitter OC for simplicity if you don't like TCF; having access to fat damage and fire makes most obstacles easy to handle.
Wavecooker neurotoxin is a no brainer, but you can also spec it for Boiler Ray and gesture in the vague direction of swarmers (particularly the normal dread's swarmer ball attack) to explode them all. Radiation OC is convenient for the double-feature of the radiation proc and also narrower shots make it much easier to avoid friendly fire.

Debuff build - 23211, also hydrogen ion additive oc if you have it
Dmg build - 13212, volatile impact oc

To help with regular enemies - subata
To use during dreadnought fight - colette with blistering necrosis oc

all projectiles fired from the sludge are AoE so you can hit dreads even thru their unbreakable armour, and this deals damage to their abdomen weakspot
sludge blast is best for this due to its high spike damage but you might also prefer a VIM build specced for normal shots

Whatever you want, just make sure to take the tier 5 slow upgrade. That way you and the team won't have to spend most of the fight running from them.

Volatile Impact is my go to Elimination Driller, same build as Eugen posted above. Sludge Blast is strong too, but is godawful vs regular enemies. Use whatever secondary, I just take Cooker with everything.

Also I take double damage mod C4. Sludge is very awkward vs Hive Guard's armour phase, but one good C4 can almost kill all three weak points on haz5.

If you want to do it in style;
Goo Bomber Special, then EPC with Burning nightmare to shoot through the dread and set the goop on fire at the same time.
Add neurotoxin grenade for another DoT and dreads are slowed to no end.
Make sure you set it on fire after you let the neurotoxin tick a bit, so you dont instantly explode it.

Its less effective on the twins, but all sludgepump builds are. Its still pretty good and fun to use.

One weird build I do occasionally on driller is hydrogen ion additive and wave cooker with mega supply with the goal in mind is to slow the dread to a crawl. Granted this is a full support build and I do not recommend this solo, this can trivialize some dreads by completely immobilizing them and letting your team destroy it. Basically take fast charge shot and everything related to slow and just charge shot dread, swap to wave and tap every other second to get double slows on it til you charge shot again. One downside is against the twins cause you can really only focus slow one but just go for lacerator since it is on the ground more

hydrogen ion additive if you want to take your time
volatile impact mixture or sludgeblast if not
SCamp Jul 15, 2023 @ 10:00pm
VIM (normal shot)
Hydrogen Ion Additive (normal shot)
Sludge Blast (charge shot)
Disperser Compound (charge shot)

Are all pretty good for elims. You can use other OCs as long as you build appropriately.

Do note that you'll be using normal shots more often for utility when using charge shots. Charge shot builds want charge speed in order to take advantage of vulnerability windows.

For all builds in T5 either is good: You can go slow for better kiting and/or team utility. Or you go DOT damage if you're confident in your kiting and don't feel like you need extra slow.
