That or you can just abandon the mission.
I can walk away from the group and be fine 98% of the time.
good for you man
Why? The damage is done by then. Wouldn't you be better off just finishing the mission and telling the player they shouldn't be calling the drop pod before the team is ready and maybe preventing them or at least making them think twice before doing it again rather than not know why they were kicked?
Not allowing kicks after calling pod: 1 person causes mission to end early. Might be annoying, but entire team can still get rewards by making it back to the pod.
Allowing kicks after calling pod: Troll hosts would become a problem, kicking everyone after the pod is called. Like C4 Drillers blowing people up on the drop pod ramp, but worse.
This debate has been had a hundred times. The current system isn't perfect, but there is no "perfect" system. The one we have is the best option, the lesser of all evils. Any change to how calling the drop pod works would inevitably open more doors for trolls than it would close.
Or get host an option to block button until he decides to push it, it also will be enough. Although, just control over kicking players on evac will be much better.
The way it's set up now is especially painful in escort missions with a matrix core filling side mission. Gotta get the drilling done so the dozer isn't holding you back.
I would much rather be able to get kicked out of someone elses game for no reason than have the option for people to ruin the game I am hosting.
Have your rules written in the server name. By playing on your server, the player agrees to your rules. If it's not written, you have no ground to kick a player for pressing the button.
If you ask me, the actual rule is: "You need everyone's consent to continue the mission after the primary objective is done." By continue playing, you're risking to lose the reward the team has already earned.
I would probably press the button if I saw 3 greenbeard teammates trying to start an OMEN on Haz 4. I simply do not agree risking more time and effort.
