Help, Can't Launch Game for Weeks!
Would really appreciate any help on this issue. Haven't been able to launch the game for weeks even after multiple reinstalls, verifications, software updates, even a complete computer reformat (reset to factory status). Steam is run as admin. At no point does the actual DRG application actually come up on my task bar, nor do I see DRG under processes apps in task manager.

I have also run the game in safe mode with no difference. If a factory reset doesn't work with all drivers and software up to date, I have no idea what's causing this. I also experienced this on another game that used to work then suddenly started doing this, but DRG was the first and remains consistent.

System specs.
Have you checked event viewer to see if there is an error.
Have you looked in the game logs.

How are you trying to run the game?

From Steam?
From your desktop?

We need more info, mate

Tried running both from steam and desktop, same result. App won't launch. How do I check the game logs without being able to launch the game? I've also tried launching in Safe mode, DX 11 an 12. I feel it has something to do with backup file version between my desktop and laptop, but I dont have access to my desktop anymore. Disabling cloud sync doesn't allow app to launch either though, even after fresh install.

Okay, the CPU is a laptop CPU, what video card (video chip really) is in your laptop? The I7 12700H supports integrated graphics, so this may be the issue. If your laptop (give laptop model pls) has integrated intel Iris graphics you may want to update the drivers, assuming the game worked on your laptop before.

This page covers Iris driver updates:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005629/graphics.html

Historically intel integrated graphics haven't been the best, though this may have gotten better over the years. Game not launching is most likely a graphics issue as the GPU cannot process the game graphics, probably with current drivers. If they were updated and this caused the issue, try another update if there is one, or rollback the update to when it was last stable.

This may also be cause for concern, though the solution, it seems, is to simply reinstall graphics drivers, which may have been wiped/reverted when you reformatted anyway and windows is just running the graphics using native microshaft drivers which are only really good enough for running the OS and not much else.

My laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. Drivers are up to date. Also, I've been able to play the game on my laptop before in the past. The issue started when I ported my desktop's cloud backup onto my laptop. I since reformatted fresh, did not backup which I thought would fix it, but it didn't. Again I don't have access to my desktop. This issue is now happening on BattleTech game on steam, which I also used to be able to play on my laptop, so this issue isn't isolated to DRG anymore.

Try a fresh install, then restore your back up from in game.

Also I believe the porting of backups only works for Xbox.

Tried a fresh install, well over 20 times, including reformatting my entire laptop.

4. Update Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

Head over to the following path on your PC:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steamworks Shared\_CommonRedist\vcredist

You should see the following folders:
2012\vc_redist.x64.exe
2013\vc_redist.x64.exe
2019\vc_redist.x64.exe
Just make sure to run all of these executable files that are present. (If you’ve different folders, then run the vc_redist.x64.exe file in those folders)
Finally, restart your PC to fix the issue.

I have 2015 and 2019 folders. Both .exe files result in following error: 0x80070666 - Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue.

Followed the rest of the website with no change. Also have DirectX 12 installed.
