Are you sure you were picking up 1/2/3 nitra and not 0.1/0.2/0.3? DRG has a habit of rounding down nitra if you have some in your inventory already. If you have 0 nitra, any bit of nitra you mine/pick up will be 1. If you have at least 1 nitra, any nitra you pick up will be rounded (not certain if it's rounded normally or floored when below 1).

The only bug I know of with nitra is with Bosco mining a piece of nitra next to red sugar, which bosco will "convert" all of the mined nitra into red sugar pieces.
Even at 0.1 values, the amount of Nitra, if it was "real", should absolutely have pushed my Nitra inventory from 1 to 2.
I had 1 whole Nitra before and after collecting all of the ghost nitra. I only stopped to collect the Nitra because my game was slowing down, such as when there is too much Gold ore from Golden Bugs/Crassus Crater, so I ran by to start picking up the Nitra, to clear up the lag and deposit in Molly.
But it didn't register.
I want to stress again, I strip mined the entire room before popping Dread cocoon, save for a vein of gold up on the ceiling in a corner.
I was beating the Nitra outta that Dreadnought haha?

The "rounding bug" isn't exclusive to explosives. It happens when mining too. (And with all minerals, not just nitra.) Explosive mining usually refers to TCF/C4/FatBoy mining. Pickaxe mining vs explosive mining yield similar totals only slightly favoring mining (likely due to the below).
When you mine nitra, you see the crumbs? If you have 1+ nitra in your inventory, they mine out to nothing because they are rounded. If you have 0 nitra, then you get 1 nitra. If you are really desperate, you can get roughly 5-10 extra nitra just by depositing 1 nitra and mining crumbs for 1 mineral. It's just not worth in terms of time/efficiency.
You could have gotten more nitra from the bug if you tried depositing that 1 nitra, collecting another 1 nitra, depositing it... etc.
(I suspect the bug is caused by mineral chunk values being type float/double with decimal values and bagged minerals being type integer, not supporting decimal values. The conversion to integer during addition drops the decimal when adding into the bag."
