Pretty sure by default the console version has that, because the PC version doesn't need to have split screen.

Afaik the console version isn't split screen either.

I'm not 100% on that though.

Yes this is going to happen next year as I want him to start learning programming when he is 6 years old.

I don't believe DRG has split screen on steam. Not so sure about xbox.
You may want to look into BattleBlock Theater, Broforce, any of the lego games, or portal 2 (with tinkering) for simple splitscreen coop games.

You can play DRG in split-screen mode using Nucleus Coop: https://hub.splitscreen.me/handler/jsi53BsyPBG95gCuS just need a fast enough PC to handle two instances of the game running at the same time (Ryzen Zen2 + RTX20** :)
