You could just get a Steam Deck instead.

Don't give your money to Nintendo.

We don't even have any concrete facts on the Switch 2. If it can run DRG and it does come to the platform that will be a good day.

Otherwise don't waste your time. Save up for a Steam Deck. It'll even connect to your save on Steam and you can continue to Rock and Stone even across the country with good internet!:pickax:

Yes I'm sure they're planning a port for a system that doesn't even exist yet

For some reason, this specific comment with that new pfp is really funny

thank you for being the voice of reason here. I doubt any developers have dev-kits for the switch 2 much less Ghost Ship Games which is a pretty small team with very finite resources. I would love to see this game on the switch with crossplay but 1. Nintendo's internet service is terrible and 2. hold your horses OP we don't even know what the specs on switch 2 are yet, just buy a steam deck if you wanna play DRG on the sh'tter so bad.
also I fixed your title OP, phrasing your question in one of these three corrections makes significantly more sense.
"Will the switch 2 be able to run Deep Rock Galactic?"
"Can the switch 2 handle Deep Rock Galactic?"
"Is the switch 2 powerful enough to run Deep Rock Galactic?"
I understand what the post is trying to say but it's kind of like reading Yoda speak: "Does Switch 2 , can handle Deep Rock Galactic ?"

i actually bought a steam deck recently and i have to say the DRG experience isn't great. it runs ok but a lot of the text is way too small to read without magnification and using chat is basically impossible, least of all in the heat of the moment
as someone who used to play with controller fairly often (including on haz5) i was prepared to accept the shortcomings of thumbsticks, but when you're also holding the screen and/or using gyro controls, it's much less comfortable. if you've ever used gyro controls on switch, imagine doing it with a system that's over twice as heavy

not to mention, the whole point of systems like the switch or the deck is that they're very ad-hoc. you pull them out, play for 15 minutes, then put them down. they're meant for singleplayer games primarily because you can just pause and return to them as needed. DRG being a co-op P2P game goes very much against the intended purpose of the deck. you have to know ahead of time if you'll be able to commit to a full mission's length and also have a stable internet connection (which completely precludes playing DRG whilst away from home)
at that point you may as well just use a desktop

No doubt it'll be able to handle it, whatever modern hardware it uses will have to be at least as powerful as the Steam Deck. As to whether or not GSG are at all interested in the platform, nobody knows.

Switch 2 doesn't exist yet, so I'm confident in saying "no". Maybe one day there will be a Switch 2, and maybe it'll run DRG, but that day is not today. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, given how Nintendo has historically usually been against allowing violent third-party games onto their consoles.

Love when people buy Steam Decks and then complain that games that were never designed with Steam Deck in mind (which is to say, 99.99% of them) don't work well on what's basically a tablet.
