Not enough scrip to complete the season tree

Hey all
I'm getting that problem where there isn't enough scrip to complete the cosmetics tree. I'm currently on Season 2 with the season selector.
I got all the season pass scrips and all the season event scrips. The season challenges have stopped giving out scrip and instead just give XP now.
I tried to look up the problem here in the discussion but everyone just keeps insisting that anyone having this problem must have accidentally skipped unlocking their season pass scrip rewards.
How could I fix or work around this problem? Any chance of contacting Ghost Ship to give me the necessary scrip?

No, GSG can't give you the scrip.

Just play a different season until it's fixed, your progress won't be lost.

(That said, just because the Daily gives XP doesn't mean it won't ever give a scrip; you could just be getting unlucky.)

How can they not do that? They are literally the developers of the game.
When we had problems with statistics mismatching in Talisman: Digital Edition, we could just email the devs and they fixed the problem manually in their databases.

Because there is no database, your save is entirely local; so unless you expect them to come to your house...?

Can't/won't. They will not manually go thru every user that asks for scrips. Wait for the bug to be fixed and play other seasons, like Chibbs said, you won't be losing any progress.

Oh I see. I didn't expect that in a modern game :D
Have there been any problems like this in the past? How long does it usually take for them to fix semi-game breaking bugs like this?

As far as I know they are aware of it, but it has been a thing since the ability to revisit old seasons was introduced a little while ago; I'd expect it to be fixed as soon as they can nail down what's causing it. It's taken longer than I would normally expect of them, but perhaps it's a particularly stubborn bug.

Also if all my progress data is saved completely locally, that seems to be a serious data loss hazard. Is there any way to back up my progress so all the hundreds of hours of mining doesn't get nuked on the off chance my hard drive decides to explode?

The game does also backup to Steam cloud as well. If you ever lose your data, you can restore your last save from the main menu > saves tab.

You can back it up manually by just copying your save folder, but as mentioned above; Steam cloud should take care of this as well.

Another thing to keep in mind is that rewards from the previous season become available in Lost Packs and Cargo Crates in the next season, so if you're one or two short (or more) you can easily grab everything later on

Well...they used to.

When they added the ability to replay old seasons, they put all those rewards back in said seasons; so you can't find them that way anymore.

It's confusing, I know haha.

Oh! I didn't know that! That means I've probably got some S4 dregs to dredge up

In every season there is only one mission type that always gives you scrip, if you happened to skip those for some reason you will reach level 100 without all scrip needed.

In season 3 you have to do the objective that tells you to clear 0/2 Lithophage Warning missions, reroll your daily missions until you get this one, that's the only way to farm the remaining scrip.

The season challenges awarding scrips have dried up already. I don't get any more Rival Presence challenges, as I've stated that in my original post.
