Not every skin can please everyone, I'm sure some people like it.
Also, I don't think it's fair to call it a grind, it's just a reward you get for playing the game.
Thanks SGM, I'll check out that framework.
they made the right call by making the orange colour secondary to the more muted turquoise
however i'll agree that there's a lot of frameworks where it looks really bad
fourth relic and scale brigade heavily reduce the presence of the orange, instead replacing it with this really ugly toothpaste cyan colour that just looks terrible next to the turquoise. it's not every gun this happens on, but some have it worse than others (especially on warthog)
but to be fair, that's not a problem with dragon scale specifically. different frameworks have different colour regions so the colours will change depending on what skin you have
It's just a new way to unlock some more paintjobs each season, and encourage players to try weapons they don't normally use.
If you don't like the WM5 skins, at least look on the bright side: You'll be all caught up to earn the WM6 skin(s) when they release.
What I mean is, you don't really need to do much specific, just play the game; thats not really a grind imo.
IMO a grind is when you have to go out of your way to do specific actions (often unenjoyable ones) to earn something.
It's a grind if you're looking from the bottom up and you're a completionist. You and I have the benefit of already having all this stuff so our opinion is a bit backward. Our experience with the loot pool was different than new players to the game.
It's not a grind to you, and me (really) because we clearly play the game a lot.
But dude, if you want to get this skin you have to earn 350k experience PER WEAPON. That's .. a lot. And if you're starting this game, and you're thinking about spending the time to - I dunno - get the rewards for playing, then that's A LOT of time to spend to get a skin.
And the skin, to me, is not much different from Lemon Clean, or even Mint Assault.
My point is - if it's going to require 350k experience to get it, at least you know, make it .. interesting?
But these are my opinions.
Also, the whole argument of "if you don't like it don't use it" is childish, rhetorical and irrelevant. That's not the purpose here; the purpose is to share my opinion (that its not worth the exp required, its pretty basic, and looks similar to other ones already) and seek suggestions where this framework actually shows itself off.
CCShad over here is giving some great ideas about the wording of it, which is fair and a good point.
kestrel brings up the point about a third color that sort of shows up on some frameworks (for good or bad).
SGM actually gave me a suggestion so, I rewarded it and tried it.
You're here arguing semantics about the word 'grind'.
Do you have a recommended weapon and framework for this skin or are you just spouting?
One man's trash is another man's treasure, you personally not liking it isn't grounds to change it.
Not trying to be mean or anything, it just is what it is.
(Also I'm not sure what my hours played have to do with it? It's a new system, I had to "grind" for them the same as everyone.)
ps. How should we be able to know what looks good to YOU?
Here's a better idea: Stop hyperfocusing on "It took X amount of EXP". Everyone will unlock these skins by just playing the game. While we're at it, maybe stop caring about a useless cosmetic that you aren't going to use?
That's hardly a grind.
As for good framework/Dragon scale combos, I haven't unlocked it on Scout yet, but I'll get back to you with what I could come up with on other weapons. Tbf it's far from being the ugliest skin, even if it doesn't strike me up as great looking. You can definitely find some good uses.
tldr: op is a green hater
I whipped up some ideas how it could be used, hope it helps.
