There is not a legitimate way to merge save files, but you can just make your level 500 save into your "main save" (not that it means anything) instead.

Which one is the "mainsave" literally means nothing.

If you just want your level 500 save to be your "Main" save (Does nothing besides protecting it from accidental deletion), you can just open your DRG file directory by right clicking it in your Steam library, hovering over "Manage..." and choosing "Browse local files". Then go to FSD > Saved > SaveGames, delete or rename the file Player.sav, then rename your "LEVEL_533_blue" profile file to Player.sav. Note that all of these files are prefixed with your Steam ID, make sure to keep that part while renaming files. Backup the folder by copying it to your desktop first, just to be safe.

so i finally got around to trying it...
it keeps over writing the renamed high level with zero stats when i load up the game
i turned off steamcloud and for what ever reason it still overwrites the file when i rename it..
when i go to the save menu nothing.

i tryed renaming the secondary save to "player" so the .sav file would be the same and nothing

i cry cause all i want is to use the save at the top of the list instead of my secondary file
but its seems like i cant.....

oh well maybe one day devs will make it possible

Have you tried the solution presented in the following link by using the restore process?
