To OP,

What, exactly, does "cant start the game" mean? You get an error? Black screen? Nothing happens? Something else?

For the ones getting an error, check to see if your anti-virus has flagged the game program. That has caused similar problems for some in other games. You could also have Steam verify the game files.

I don't know if OP got the same problem as me, but I got an hard drive writing error after verifying the game files. My download never finishes in Steam.
And I verified the game files after my crash to desktop from the Coffee Stain Logo.

And I verified the game files after my crash to desktop from the Coffee Stain Logo.

Fixed it. My Antivirus quarantined the FSD-File that is needed to run DRG. If you have a similar problem, look in your quarantine folder in the Antivirus Program (mine is Avast btw)

And indeed Antivirus quarantined the FSD-file! Working now.

I misunderstood the problerm all is fixed now what i dont understand is why it was flagged out of nowhere, maybe some update or something like that, thank you for asistance

Thank you, Avast did quarantine that file, but neglected to inform me of the fact.

Disabling your AV will likely not help, if the file was already put in quarantine. You will have to restore it from there, and add an exception, of course.

same issue here... crashes at startup. So I tried reinstall. that didn't work. next verified the integrity of installed files. It re-downloaded a file and now I get disk error on update.
