friendly fire
add a option for friendly fire to be turned off please

why?
because you allowed mods to be added that allow higher degree of damage, fatboy overclock mod nuke kills everyone. neither of which can be turned off.
thank you

its an integral part of a game like this, think of other 4-player mission-based shooters, like l4d2, hd2, payday 2, they ALL have friendly fire to make you more careful with your aim.

Payday 2 only has partial friendly fire

You can do entire missions without having to worry about it.

Yeah there are certain weapons and throwables that can cause friendly fire damage in Payday 2. I know for sure they include the rocket launchers and I think molotov grenades as well.

In drg a majority of weapons can damage your teamates.

In payday 2 only some throwables, explosives weapons can do that.

Friendly fire is always a thing in drg

Which is only a really small part of the arsenal in this game.
Explosions and radiation damage everyone as they should, yet you're demanding an option for it to be harmless to you and your teammates? That's some leaf lover level of entitlement.

Kinda yes, kinda no.
The thunderhead's AOE can't actually hurt other players, for example. At one point it did. Sort of.
It's a rare exception. I can't think of other ones like it, but there may be others.

While the damage isn't just outright ignored, Hazards have various values for how much friendly fire is dealt, and Explosive weapons have their damage cut in half from that.

So for instance, a 100 damage bullet would deal 40 damage on haz 4, whereas an explosion of the same damage would deal 20.

Hhonestly, AOE friendly fire damage can more or less be ignored. Don't go around shooting your teammates for no reason, but if there are enough glyphids to justify using an AOE weapon, and someone is in that AOE... the glyphids are going to hurt him more than the AOE weapon. I promise. Pull the trigger.

Yes period
All primary and secondary weapons (not all throwables but still a good amount) have a way to do friendly fire at all times even when taking into account oc's.
Yes the thunderhead aoe dont do any FF by default, but the direct hit still does.
You can't just shoot through your teamates.

I know what hazards change.
And since I play on haz 5 or more

Its very annoying to lose two third of my health because of my teamates in situations where I wouldn't have taken any damage.

And player vulnerability affecting FF is still a terrible decision.

The only cases where using aoe despite a teamate being in the swarm is fine are when its Gunner taking FF or using something like rj250.
Mostly because of the explosive resistance and other factors unique to this class.
And this oc not doing a lot of FF while also having the ability to move a teamate to a safer position.

Every other time, it ends up participating to chip damage and making your teamates vulnerable.

It's the game's way of teaching you how to aim

I mean if you fat boy them or C4 them it's bad, yeah. And for the absolute highest difficulty with maximum vulnerability, it's unwise.
Aside from that though? I'd say ~140 damage is about the tipping point for AOE. At absolute worst, that dumbs down to ~50 damage on haz five.
That's the same as getting hit by a slasher once.
50 damage from a PGL, or 50 damage from a slasher, along with a movement debuff to ensure getting nibbled on by his friends. Which way, Diggy Dwarf?

And that's still assuming absolutely zero fall-off, a fairly high damage PGL build, no perks or passives, and max hazard.
If it's hazard 4 and you don't directly shoot your teammate, you won't even break their shield. It's on par with a glyphid grunt hit.
If it's still hazard 5 but you're running friendly or the target is a gunner, then you won't do health damage to a shielded target regardless. Hitting them is less than the equivalent of a grunt hit.
Obviously don't shoot your team for no reason, but the trade is usually worth it on a swarmed target.

P.S Napkin math and it's early, feel free to correct me if I'm off.

Then we agree

When I say "like rj250" aside from the unique attribute of this oc I am thinking of aoe that don't do significant FF.
here's an another solution: play solo and you have no one to friendly fire/get friendly fired <:
