Will there be new Content in the Future?
New Perks?
Maps?
Missions?
Class?

Really anything?

I play DRG since one could buy it, and it instantly hooked with me. But since release it didnt feel like they made a lot of Progress from Early Access to now.
Only a few Mission Types, 2? new Biomes, and Weapon Modifications.

I really hoped for much more, more Biomes. More Story driven Content, as to, who we are, what we are doing, who the Enemy is and so on and so forth.
I hoped for more POIs, such as Dwarfen Structures, or Structures overall.
I also hoped to get a look outside of Caves which would be an extremely hostile envivroment with Toxic Weather, barely Air and a lot of Enemies and Meteor impact zones.

But so far, DRG really feels like a lot of wasted potential.
There are quite many cool Mods that add some of the stuff i wished for, but Mods just aint the same. :/

So thus the Question, will there be more Content in the Future or is the Game done?

season 6 is still planned as far as we know, however it likely will be awhile as the developers are committing most of their resources on a different game

Perks and classes, almost certainly not. The devs have commented about that in the past.

Maps/Missions, maybe.

There's gonna be new stuff in season 6, we just don't know what that'll be, and it won't be for probably several more months.

With the introduction of Corespawn and the implication that there's all sorts of wacky stuff deeper down in Hoxxes, that'd be my guess where we're headed next. So very likely new enemies and a new biome.

Well, kinda yes... I mean DRG is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' awesome game. But then... kinda not. I'm very anxious to see how awesome that new game is. These last few years... you can see the DRG devs are chafing under the weight/age of DRG's code; they had a lot fewer resources when they first developed DRG, it could be really really good.

I strongly disagree with that statement, and I dare you to download and play the Legacy version; to remind yourself just how much has changed since then.

I've been playing about 4 years and yeah, so, so much has been added even in that time. They've like, easily doubled enemy diversity, along with a whole host of new weapons and OCs. Not to mention the holiday stuff, and tons of cosmetics (paid or no). As well as balance passes and performance patches.

It's not wasted potential, it's exactly what the devs always wanted it to be. It's not a story-driven game, and it's not a forever game that's trying to monopolize your gaming until the end of time. It's a fun coop shooter where you shoot bugs and hit shiny rocks with a pickaxe.

Game hasn't been abandoned. It's okay to go play other games and come back in a year and enjoy the new DLC.

While I agree I feel they've not added as much as they could have, they also haven't added nothing. Since unseasoned they've added:-
- a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, and grenade for all 4 classes.
- a ton of free cosmetics for weapons, armors, and pickaxes, like seasonal rewards
- they've added 2 missions Industrial Sabotage and Deep Scan (This and biomes are where I feel they are lacking in additions)
- 2 anomalies and 5 warnings
- like a dozen random ingame events like lithometeors
- Several new mobs like the stingtail, stalker, and septic spreader. Plus all the bots and lithophage variants
- Haz 5 +
- Numerous Overclocks
- Jetboots
- an additional variant for omen, dreadnaught, and escort duty spawn rng (also could use a few more by this point)

And that's just what comes to the top of my head.

Doubled ? Nah.
They had like 6 enemies at base. they multiplied the diversity by 10.

why are they releasing so many games?

why arent they focusing on their golden boy?
are they trying to milk it into a franchise?

One game is not "so many"

There's only so long you can milk a single game before it becomes unsustainable

The developers have spent the last seven years of their lives working on this one project and want to work on something else for a change.
Jhonis Nov 4, 2024 @ 8:14am
There will never be any new perks?
But I got so many extra perk points, and nothing to spend them on!
But I guess they are all useful, and I can't think of any that would be more useful, except combo perks that are half strength of the originals.
Or just pointless things, like the bugs exploding into confetti, or something like that?

And what about new third equipment, or is it the fourth equipment slot?
