Voice chat not working?
I'm new to this game, tried playing this game on twitch recently. So far I have ended up with very negative players joining in. On text chat they're telling me I shouldn't be playing this game if I can't level up 25 times in less than an hour.

I try talking to people on voice chat to get tips on the game, but either get no response or players telling me to leave my own server.

Sorry you've been having a negative experience. I suggest avoiding lobbies with requirements in the server name (level, promotion stars, stuff like that). Those are the hosts that will micromanage every second of your game and complain and/or kick you out of their game.

To address the second part about voice chat. It seems hit or miss to me. Either the person sounds like they're deepthroating the mic and i have to turn incoming chat vol to 25% to hear anything else or it comes in barely audible and broken up because the voice activation is jacked. I have definitely seen players get salty in the chat for thinking others were ignoring what they are saying over the mic not realizing that nobody even knew they were talking. The last good voice chat I heard was some dude hot miked talking about tanks to someone for literally the whole level.

Push to talk might be bugged and your voice might not be transmitting.
Don't play haz 4 or 5 until you're promoted.

That solution they had doesn't work for me. The dB meter only moves when push to talk is off OR if I reboot my computer.

Nah. No need to gatekeep them.

I remember being a greenbeard. It's just not fun to be dying over and over and over again.

The community has gotten worse in the recent months imo. Probably just a symptom of popularity increasing, meaning that more of the toxic fps players are moving in. I don't know who is telling you that you need to be hitting certain leveling goals; just ignore them. Try to stick in haz-2 and haz-3 lobbies until you feel comfortable with the game mechanics, just so that you can focus on learning the game, and so that you're not a major burden to teammates.

For example, if you were playing Payday 2 and a teammate wasn't progressing objectives, burning through ammo/doctor bags, and going down frequently, you wouldn't want to keep playing with them, even if they were only making those mistakes due to being new. I can't speak to your gameplay, but keep in mind that each class is designed to handle certain problems better than others, and it can be very frustrating if one player is ignoring their role.

DRG has *never* worked right with a single one of the headsets I own (and I've tried multiple). I'll go into Discord and everything works just fine. So that's been my solution.

That's really strange. Overall, it seems like a very chill community. In game, i haven't run into any salt miners, but it's good to know they exist. Not many people use voice, it seems...not the rando's anyway.

But Sometimes it's fun to be the only one with a working mic XD

Same when they stick to they role too much. Scout died in opposite corner of the map? It's your fault that you do not support him while he collect gold, ofcource... on Hazzard 4 in the middle of the swarm.

I really want to have gating for lobbies at least by 1 promotion in class.

A lot of players just turn off game voice chat. In many games.

I'm also disable it, because ptt is not comfortable to use while you must to do other things and always enabled voice chat... you don't want to hear things in my house sometimes.
