I'm sorry but this is so annoying
Honestly if you aren't the host of the game and you call the drop pod with asking or anything go f**k yourself.

Communicate your intentions before you start the mission.
If the pubs don't agree, they can leave before the Drop Pod even exits the Space Rig.
If you communicate your intentions and everyone either agrees or silently chooses to stay, but then someone decides anyway to hit the button without talking to the group at all, then you can remove that person from your lobby once you get back to the Space Rig; then you won't have to worry about them doing it again.

If you don't communicate, there's no way for people to know your desire/intent for the mission. As host, if you want to play a certain way then it is your responsibility to make that known to those who join you.
Otherwise, you're expecting people to be mind-readers and then you're throwing a fit because they didn't ESP their way into your good graces.

edit:
When a person hosts an open lobby, they accept the risk that things might not go their way.
If a person can't handle that risk, they can Solo or they can keep their lobbies set to Friend-Only; play with friends you know and trust, or make pre-made groups with like-minded people from the LFG subforum or DRG Discord server.
And if a person can't handle the risk of things not going their way in Open Lobbies but they choose to keep hosting them, it's nobody's fault but their own.

That's how the game works though.

The button is there for everyone to use, in case they have to, or want to go. Real life exists after all, and extra or secondary objectives are just that; extra and secondary.

That said, of course it's polite to ask the rest of the team first.

I don't agree. If I'm hosting the game and I want to explore more and collect additional minerals I should be able to. If they want to leave then they should just leave the game. That's just so annoying.

I get your point, but saying it a bit more politely might help your case.

Naw; you should go ♥♥♥♥ yourself m8.

The game is designed this way for this specific reason. To stop control freaks from holding people hostage.

You can though, play alone or make a team. If you have such specific requirements, maybe randoms aren't the best option for you?

Personally I find it very annoying when I'm hosting and people don't call drop pods when they're out of ammo and are waiting for me.

I mean, dude, you're out of ammo, order a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pod.

Worse are those narcs that just want to spend 40 minutes in each cave scraping right down to the bottom for very little to no xp/cash benefit whilst the rest of the team misses out on the rewards they could otherwise be earning.

I'm glad people can just 'oops button' in those cases.

I'm a host for games of mining dwarfs, not a dictator of my own little world where everyone must play how I want because I'M the host.

I mean it was discussed like 800 times now, but still... The option would be lovely, my view is this: Give the option - show it in the server screen (like Chibbity said, you cant be a hostage when you willingly join) I have these 3 options to add to the basic one:
1) Only host can call the pod, if non-host player tries to call it - host will get a notification to either accept or reject the launch
2) Only majority can - vote system (host has the deciding vote in 2 : 2 votes)
3) Other players cant call the pod without secondary obj completed
I think, that this would be the best for everyone, make this happen, show it in server list.
Need to finish ASAP -> use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chat and ask 2 others or the host if you can...
If they say that you cant -> 100% your fault
And since Im waiting for all those "No." replies, please tell me, why do you this is a bad idea.

I agree that it could be a bad idea as of right now (without adding anything else), but change it to something like I proposed and it will work and put a stop to these threads and make a lot of ppl happy.

Yeah but when I'm playing with three of my friends and one random and he just calls the pod before we were able to do the even and mine more gold or etc it's frustrating.

Don't want people to mess with the button? Simple. Solo the game until your level is high enough to party with pros.
