In the game's compatdata directory, which will be a series of directories that look like a typical Windows filesystem, then you just go to where whatever you're looking for would be on Windows.

/steamapps/compatdata/548430/pfx/drive_c/users/Public/mod.io

For future reference the PCGamingWiki is pretty good for pointing where this stuff is.

Windows would result in the device being more expensive, slower, and Valve would be beholden to Microsoft which is something they've desperately been trying to avoid for over a decade. Linux isn't more confusing, it's just different.

Why are you looking for a mods directory? You can simply subscribe to mods on the site, and that'll get them listed, installed, and updated from the in-game UI. This works perfectly fine on my own Steam Deck, after 900 hours of playing this game I've never once needed to mess around with mod files. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to find the directory, but why are you looking for it? Do you intend on making mods?

He's prolly trying to manually delete them due to some issue, which can be a thing when Mod.io doesn't work properly.
