Stop running into 15 turrets and die

Let your driller disable the turret controller from underground or kill the turrets one by one but stop running up to the controller like a completely mindless bot, attempting to hack it just to get mowed down in 2 seconds.
These turret clusters are much easier when approached with some strategy; it can be something like a driller disabling it from underground or an engi taking out 5 at once with a precisely placed nuke, gunner and scout can kill the turrets 1 by 1 with high-range single-target damage.
Every class can deal with this situation, but smh no matter what type of mission, difficulty or even in an EDD with Rival Presence you will find one mindless boar rushing into certain death trying to hack a controller while 6 turrets shoot at him.

what I DO see is patrol bots going down and instantly watching a player rush over, mess up the hacking event a few times and then dying because they thought rushing down a hackable patroller mid swarm without cover was a great idea

That's me. Not figured out the right time to rush the controller yet, and it really only works if you've got someone to watch your back while hacking.

if you're on driller or gunner the quickest way to tell if it's a good idea to rush controller is
1. theres no repulsion turrets around it
2.there are little to no glyphids nearby that might aggro

if yes to both rush the controller, burst turrets aim lags behind so unless you run straight at/away from one it won't hit you

quickly dig a hole to hide yourself from turrets either with the drills or using the gunner shield to buy you time

once your underneath the controller and nothing serious has aggro it's almost always an easy hack, I like to also toss a toxin grenade while I do so as driller to slow anything approaching and kill swarmers since I don't use thorns on driller

ran the deep dive last night and the bronze driller on my team ran straight for the turret hack machine. he got pelted by a spitballer 3 times in a row yet simply refused to react lol

I all admit i did this on DD, though I've successfully run up to the controller and dug down many times previously. This last time I was followed by a swarm and just dug my own grave.

The strategy is usually to kill any pusher turrets near the hacking thing, then get Driller to do the rest.

As the one who usually plays Driller tho, can my team PLEASE keep the other bugs/shredders/etc off of me while I hack? It's annoying when the team expects you to hack, but just sits around letting you get eaten by Shredders while you're hacking.

Yeah, I could stop hacking for 2 seconds and kill the shredders, but they keep coming back, making it so I can never finish hacking.

Driller with the CRSPR can literally just walk at the turrets and insta kill them all in few seconds. Done it plenty of times.

with my driller i can walk amongst the turret and burning them i what 2-3second.. easy work , heat build + heat radiance.. easy peasee lemon squeezy, same for nem, i use eigntehn sense however you spell it and nem are a joke

This is the key with any long hack, having a true wingman protect your ass whilst stuffs trying its hardest to put you off, rarely seen though, i do it because i wish peeps would do it when im hacking.
