Macro Spam

Ever since the recent patch and launch of Season 5, I keep constantly running into players who spam macros. "We're rich!" and farting/screaming from Mission Control, sometimes 5+ times a seconds and quite frankly, I'm sick of it. Is the only option to kickban those people or is there a way to prevent their use somehow? DRG used to be a nice, friendly game and now it feels like it's caught cancer.

I've been playing this game all day almost every day and I've had zero people doing this so far. Every player I've been playing with has been super helpful and super nice. I don't think I've ever encountered a single troll at all in this game since I first got it.

i straight up have never seen a single voice line spammer in almost 2k hours, i refuse to believe this is an actual issue for people

personally i think trying to differenciate between shoutboard abuse and the usual obsessive ping spam that plagues most pub lobbies is entirely redundant. and frankly, it seems quite hypocritical to me

No offense my dude but your sure we playing the same game here? Since when were you able to ping mushroom or were rich every 5 seconds?

Those are only for special moments you find during missions nothing more nothing less. I mean I would get annoyed if it was every 5 seconds all game every game but it's not + it's funny in the moment.

Granted yea you could ping maggot every 5 seconds all game but I've never seen that once is 2000 hours+ lol.

At least with pings the voicelines make sense. They convey information, like that there's a gold chunk someone found, or that there's a mushroom over yonder. When people spam voicelines off of a shoutboard it often makes no sense and can be jarring to other people who don't expect it.

That, and most of the time the person using the shoutboard is the only one capable of doing it. Anyone can ping something, so it's easy for people to join in and have a bit of fun with it.

Yup. i seriously don't need to hear a fart every 2 seconds, starting from the lobby, all the way while we're still deploying in the drop pod, and then troughout the entire mission.

It is very rare, but i had one of those today.

I don't care if people use it, as long as it isn't spammed to obnoxious levels. sometimes its funny.

It's like a joke you've heard a millions times It's funny until it just get's annoying. Also actually did find a guy who used that shout mod right had lots of fun with the host freaking out when I throw c4 on him ^^

Tho funny enough even he was complaining about people spamming voice lines with the mod and having to kick them.

There are a ton of people who use QOL mods. Do you want to just blanket ban dudes who have completely client side mods from your game/do you want to be on the receiving end of that if you use QOL mods?

Yes. I did this in Payday 2, tons of people used HUD mods and QoL mods but I was willing to not allow them into my lobbies if it meant that other modders weren't allowed in. As I don't use mods and don't intend on using them I would be fine. I'm also sure there are plenty of lobbies that would be open to such people.

But the bigger issue is that dudes can just sideload the mod and bypass the built in protection system.

True, this was also an issue on Payday 2, even though I had allow modded players disabled I still had a handful of people that joined who were blatantly cheating, however it was definitely a significant decrease in how many modded players I saw. Also players wouldn't know the lobby had mods disabled when joining, so if they talked about the mods they were using, I could easily ban them from my lobby right then after telling them, "I have allow modded players disabled". Sure people can always bypass any built in system, however the people who will go through that process are considerably less than people who just want to install mods.

obviously there is a degree of hyperbole used in the phrase "every 5 seconds" but it's no different from what others in this thread have used. there's also a much more prominent standard for ping spam in this game. it's one of the most well-known memes that permeates the game's culture
if it's inconceivable for you to imagine someone spam pinging every random object in sight, understand how some people doubt the validity of claiming one gets multiple players in-game spamming shoutboard, across multiple games

i find ping spam annoying, so i just turn character volume off. i don't need to make multiple threads complaining about it because there's nothing more i can do about it

Well agree to disagree dude if turning off all voices works for you then good but that's not going to jazz with me along with I think most people on here.

Also as I said before I'm just getting really unlucky with the fart/burp spam players :/

Granted it does removes the voices lines all together which hopefully it's not too bad unless it removes every single funny weird line :/
