How good are modded public lobbies?
Especially ones you're hosting. I had a 16-player mod the other day and hosted public lobbies all the time, but nobody ever joined them. I've always had verified mods installed and I figured I'd try installing an approved mod because some of the approved mods seem fun, but I was always worried because modded lobbies are basically separate, and I don't know what percentage of DRG's playerbase joins modded lobbies.

Is just better to stick with verified-only/unmodded?

just please don't use this to "disguise" your lobbies as regular verified lobbies if you're running game or balance changing mods. make it clear it's modded in your lobby name.

i've had a friend check this and my lobby was definitely not marked as modded
then i don't know what to tell you. unless you mean MINT lobbies aren't segregated in the way official integration does to lobbies with approved/sandbox mods, in which case that's intentional
asking someone to make it clear they're using mods is not equivalent of saying all mint users are there to trick people into joining modded lobbies. don't twist my words.
point is. no, it doesn't mark your lobby as modded. if you don't say your lobby has mods, such as reduced resupply cost, someone could join it by accident.

There are 2 ways that I know of to have a modded game, using the DRG implemented modding setup (in settings) or running an external 3rd party software called MINT (Mod INTegration). Mint will allow you to run all mods and not have your game have a tag associated with it, it will also need to be ran before running the main DRG application, so that all the PAK files are installed. When running a DRG mod (The name for the first kind), you will have a tag on your game [Modded]. This will require anyone who joins your games to download these mods. If you run MINT, you do not have this tag, do not require others to download your mods, and anyone can join your games; verified, approved, and sandbox only if they download those mods.

People sometimes play modded games, which someone said a 5-10% player base, which is probably close to the right answer, but in my experience it's like 2%. Mint is a good tool, because it doesn't soft lock people out of your game requiring them to download mods they probably don't want, but it also acts as a trickster, because it doesn't tell people what mods you are running. Best to explain your game name in the server title that way anyone who joins knows what they are getting into.

Here is a link how to set up MINT:

are you actually just trolling at this point? or are *you* incapable of reading?
Or, perhaps, you ran out of arguments, but you still need to have the last word to feel like you "won" something?

The [MODDED] tag should be there by default. If you don't see that when you host, you probably didn't install the official version of MINT.

fwiw there is a fork of MINT that removes the "[MODDED]" prefix from your lobby title and i'll at least agree that's wrong and shouldn't exist. however, the number of people using this fork is an incredibly, incredibly small minority in what is already a minority of players using the official MINT in the first place. i would be stunned if that fork had more than a hundred downloads. hell, i'd be stunned if MINT itself had anything more than about 10k downloads
