Deep Rock Galactic
An amalgamation of thread ideas (warning: LONG!)
In true mad scientist fashion, I've decided to take several dead threads (threads I thought of but decided not to make) and put 'em all together. With the electricity from a bunch of neadocyte shockers and a LURE grenade the thread is alive, ALIIIIVVVVEEE!

So what will we be talking about today? A lot of things! The subata, scout build options, hurricane guide update, season 5 thus far, and haz 5+. I think that should be all, I think.

First off, let's talk about weapons. I've been playing around with the subata and it's been fun! I still don't like it's OC line up and it's t4 mod choices are still 2-dimensional for me (WP for everything except explosive reload), it's pretty alright! While I would still never use it with the cryo cannon (or maybe I should, what do you think?), I really like its T5 C upgrade when paired with the sludge pump. Is it better than the damage bonus against burning targets? I don't think so, no. Is it fun and good? Yeah! I'd say so! Plus, I decided to put down ER and picked up overstuffed mags. While A bit basic, I enjoyed having a large magazine. What I really liked about the subata was the two round burst mod. I don't know why I like it so much, but it just meshes with me, y'know? If you haven't already, try the mod out, you might like it!

After that I want to talk about the scout. I really like the drak, but I seriously dislike how almost every single OC affects heat generation, and often negatively at that. I might be the only person (aside from Mr. Purple who, to my memory also uses the OC) is the thermal liquid coolant OC. Instead of increasing heat generation, it reduces it, which feels GREAT to me. I just want the drak to have more OCs that don't mess with hat generation. That's really all. Other than that, I want to know what mods you take for tier 1-3.
Also, gas recycling with blowthrough is great. I think the zhuks are completley carried by it's unstable OCs, but i'd imagine most people use ED and CM. So now I'm asking you to give gas recycling a try. Just don't forget to use blowthrough and let 'em rip!

I want to update my hurricane build thread, but procrastination is annoying. So, I've got this idea where I can type my ideas down on a google doc and then update my guide accordingly. That's why I can make the information more high quality while also making it easier to edit and change. My computer still does have some issues with performance so testing builds will have to be done on servers I'm not hosting and I don't know how that is going to go.

Finally we have the new season and haz 5 plus. Season 5 so far is the best season yet. It's in my opinion even better than season 1!
As for haz5+ I enjoy more bugs and aggressive bugs quite a bit. Just ask Jeanne Oskure who I played with. Those care taker tentacles DO NOT mess around with enemy aggression scaled up. There is a joke to be made here but I'm not gonna make it. Swarmers to are also a royal pain in the ass, and the faster bugs are kinda scary at times, especially when a slasher just b-lines towards ya. Like, projectile enemies with the faster shooting and the ground enemies with the faster speed make for a much more engaging experience.
More bugs is fun. I like how it throws more special enemies into the special enemy pools which makes the modifier a lot more interesting than just "more bugs".
The Player vulnerability modifier on the other hand is rather frustrating, especially when combined with more bugs and or aggressive enemies. But this could also be a skill issue so tell me what you think.
While I haven't played around with the tougher enemies modifier that often, the times I had weren't very fun. It makes bugs more bullet spongy, yes, but it also kinda messes with breakpoints in my head. I was using my favorite drak build in one of these missions, and it went from being able to deal with almost anything to struggling with ammo economy and dps. Like, how?! I'll have to try and see how this affects other weapons like the hurricane, but I'm not looking forward to it. So save me some trouble and tell me what you think and what your experiences are with the modifier.

Oh, and remember, don't be afraid to use your grenades." use em' or loose em!" Chibbity once said. Thank you master Chibbity for your words of wisdom. I have grown much since those times.

I pair my cryo cannon with a full-auto subata since using heavy hitter EPC feels anemic, good DPS and satisfying to boot. I also use full-auto with T5C, dump your mag into your target and watch their health tick away.

As for gas recycling, I do use it along with T5A for better single target damage, but I've been considering switching over to some other OC and leaning back into weakpoint damage.

I Liked Your Setup Mark, and I'm a Reader, So I Don't Mind Long Posts-

But This Wasn't Even That Long, Compared to Even Some of MY Rambling, In-Depth Posts-
Not Even a 'Wall of Text', Just a Decent Length Essay- You're Still Probably Going to Get Some 'Too Long, Not Gonna Read That' Commenters (Seriously, WHY Do Those People
Even Comment If They Won't Bother to Read Everything?)

For Some Responses Back to Your Ideas and Conclucions-

-SO GLAD You Enjoy the Subata- You Know How I Feel About It- 'Bata Is Better™

-Agree About the Drak (I Mean You DID Mention Me)- I Use 2 of the Cooldown Mod Options AND the Thermal Liquid Coolant OC- Why? So I Can Just ENJOY THE BASE GUN- The Drak Is Actually a Fun Weapon, That Can Shred Enemies Quickly, Even Large Ones Like Praes and Wardens- But I Just Want to SHOOT with the Damn Thing- Not Manage Excess Heat, or Shield Link, or Sync an OC to How the Drak Works- I DO LIKE How the Devs have Provided That If a Player Wants to Get Fancy and Technical with the Drak, They CAN- But I Just Want To Shoot My Plasma Sphere Assault Rifle-

The Drak and the GK2 Actually Overlap In their Base Roles and Rifle Functions, and Are Mostly Interchangable, It's Just One Shoots Bullets, and the Other Shoots Energy Balls-
Once You Find What OCs You Want to Tinker With, THEN The Two Weapons Start Diverging- I'll Still Take AISE GK2 60% of the Time, M1000 30% of the Time, But the 10% Drak Usage Is Always Still a Fun and Enjoyable Experience

-Your Long Gestating Hurricane Build Master Thesis Will Be a Marvel When Finally Completed- I've Always Read the Previous Posted 'Chapters', and Even Though I Was Good with the 'Hurra Right Away, 2-3 Times You've Given Me Insight That Helped Me Improve It
a Bit- Thanks:steamthumbsup:

-Season 5 Has Been Great- I Feel the New Mission Is Just a B-/C+, But It's a Nice Addition to DRG- The Real Surprise was How Easy and Fluid It's Been to Jump Around All 5 Seasons and Reget All the Loot I Missed- Like the New Enemies, The Neo-Tekya Skins are Pretty Damn Cool, Probably the Best 'Season Skins' Yet (Although I Liked Many of Season 3's
Mil-Spec Ones)

-Chibbity Is Always Wise- With Grenades, Indeed, "Use 'Em or Lose 'Em"-
For Me That Applies Not Just to Thrown Grenades, But Engie's PGL, Scout's Boomstick Shell Ammo, Ammo In General, and Even Scout's Flare Gun- I'll Have Plenty of Nitra, But Solo,
I'll Wait Until ALL My Ammo- Primary, Secondary, All the Grenades, Driller's C4, Engie's Turrets (Those Always Fully Deplete Anyway) Gets Down to Enpty or Just 1 Clip of Ammo Left Before I Call a Supply Pod, and then Double Dip (I'm Solo Mind You, Always Ask with
a Team) to Get Full Ammo Again, and Maximize All Available Nitra on a Mission- I'll Usually Have 160+ Extra Nitra when Leaving on the Drop Pod, But You never Know- The RNG and Bugs Can Surprise You

-Extra Bit (Because I Can't Help Myself)-
For Those Deviants Who Do- STOP USING Those Damn 'Pet' Bugs
(No, I Shall NEVER Call Them By a Name)
I Just HATE Them SO DAMN MUCH, and Will GLEEFULLY Attempt to Kill Them Any Time
I See Them- You Want to Kick Me for Shooting Your Damn 'Pet' ? Fine, Use a Dumb Bug Instead of a Versatile, Useful Dwarf Player, I Usually Quit After a While Anyway-
(Breaths Deeply- Exhales- 'Temper Check'- I'm Good Now)

-Extra Bit #2- Pet Benny Wiggles For Me :summer2019corgi:

Thanks For the Fun Post Mark:steamthumbsup::steamhappy:
There's Been More Grumpy People Than Usual Around Lately:steamsad:

Hey hey hey! Nice to see you droppin' by! Thanks for the very wel written response. I loved reading it! although, there are some things I wanted to ask.

I know you love the subata, but how do you feel about the 2 round burst mod for it? I find it to be very satisfying. Thanks to its armor break bonus, it works really well against gaurds and praetorians.

Have you tried using accuracy and fire rate instead of the two cooling options? I recently tried it out and I found that it was still very easy to manage my heat (only overheated 2-3 times). It only furthered my love for the OC because you really can do anything with it. No increased heat hogwash needed!

glad to hear that you are enjoying the new season! Speaking of which, do you enjoy the added difficulty modifiers?

and finally, have you ever tried out gas recycling? I know you love your blowthrough boomstick so I think gas recycling will be right up your alley!

Also I will make sure Benny gets plenty of love and attention today. Oh! and in the near future, expect some new hurricane threads once I get the grand spankin' new OC!

edit: now I have the sudden itch to try out some boomstick builds with the clean OCs (excluding special powder)

Your Boomstick and Drak Suggestions are Interesting, I Might Try Those, But Honestly,
I Test Out Several Different Loadouts with Each Stock Weapon, and then do 2-3 More 'Balance Tests' Once I Got an OC Decided for Them- So I'm Stubborn, and Will Probably
Just Stick With What I Have

But You Never Know, Again, I Made Some Slight Changes to my Hurricane Because Of Some of Your Insights Mark- And I Can't Remember Who It Was Now, Gave Me the Tip with the LOK to Take Blowthrough Rounds and Arc the Firing Lines DOWNWARD 'Under' the Ground to Multiple Hit Close and Mid Range Grunt Mobs- THAT Was a Big Help- So I'll Write Down What You Suggested and Maybe Test-Play It on Mining Missions at Some Point

As For the Subata, Personally I Don't Like the 2 Round Fire for It, But I Can See Why Others, and Yourself Would- I've Just Been a Gamer Since the 80's and am Used to 'Tap Firing' With Anything- From Guns to Spaceships to Kung Fu Moves- So 'Tap Firing' Works for Me and
I Use Another Bonus In That Position-

As Long as It's NOT The Auto-Fire OC- I Was Excited When That Was Announced,
But Then Instantly Hated It, as It Made the 'Bata, One of the Most Dependable and
Accurate Guns in DRG, Jerky, Inaccurate, and Wonky as All Hell

Here's My Long-Standing Subata Setup-
