How long would it take me to get all Overclocks (OC)?
Quick question. How long, from scratch (1 week? 1 year?) And I mean that by doing everything possible, except leveling up (let's say all classes can get 3 promotions max).
Thx (first right answer will be chosen)

Total Cosmetics
From the Wiki there are:
- 351 cosmetics
- 148 weapon OC

Gains:
Weekly Deep Dives = +2 Blank Matrix Core, +2 Weapon Overclock +2 Matrix Core Cosmetics
Promotions = +1 Blank Matrix Core, +1 Weapon Overclock, +1 Matrix Core Cosmetics
Core Hunts = +1 Weapon Overclock, +1 Cosmetic Overclock
Forge Mastery = +1 weapon or cosmetic alternating, if have all weapons or cosmetic it will instead give a blank core which we will assume will be infused
Machine Events = 1 infused from blank

Assumptions:
Deepdives can only be done once per week, promotions we will say once per week, core hunts once per week, forge mastery happens every 5 cosmetic/weapon core forged, we will assume all blank cores are infused as soon as they are obtained and they're infused into weapon cores first then cosmetics.

Result:
With all that in mind and assuming you're consistent the entire time, you're looking at around 20 weeks just for weapon overclocks, and ~50 weeks in total. Good luck...

Edit:
Since that Wiki was outdated I just made ChatGPT write some code so anyone can sort of calculate an estimate for how many weapons/cosmetics they want. I left out forge mastery because it's not feasible to forge every item due to resource costs, and I left out promotions giving blank cores after you have every weapon OC since they are likely to pile up when you can't find machine events. I didn't thoroughly review the code, so take it as a rough estimate and expect it to break.

For me it took about 400 hours, but I also wasn’t exclusively seeking them out, + for most of that time, promotions did not give overclocks. So, maybe 300 now, give or take, assuming you made that your goal.

A long while, but you'll never get dupes at least. The cosmetic OC's make it feel way longer than it should, but as stated above getting 3 for promotions now is a big help. Promos used to just be the title change and that's it.

I think the weeklys and deep dives refresh every thursday, so stay on top of those and thats potentially 9 cores a week not counting promos.

There are like almost 300 OC... that means, you need 300/10=30 weeks/4=7 months to get all?

SEVEN MONTHS?????????????????????
Don’t forgot that missions also have machine events that give overclocks as well, then you also have the weekly core hunt, and promotions.

A few months at most, or, roughly 300 hours of playtime.
Sokaku Jun 26, 2024 @ 1:50pm
No, that is just relying on the OC Cores received. You also get blank cores which you can prioritize OCs at machine events, so divide that by two. Then you get forging rewards as you forge the OCs where the reward alternates between an OC and cosmetic, so every 10 OCs or Cosmetics you forge you get another OC to forge. The same for promotions. If you're going to grind OCs you may as well be promoting so an OC every two promotions.

It will take closer to 2 months or less to unlock the OCs depending on how much you actually play. The initial 9 OCs and 9 blank cores you receive each week are gate-kept.

only commenting because it sounds misleading to me, only DD and EDD missions actually give cores (blank or otherwise) and mission events are where you spend your blank cores as Sokaku said.
Shirojacky Jun 26, 2024 @ 3:13pm
Every promotion nets you 3 cores, 1 blank/weapon/cosmetic each. There are a lot of assignments from seasonal stuff (as in, seasonal holidays) and some other general ones that provide cores as well. Add to that the weekly core hunt and 2 DDs potentially netting you another 9 (and another 2 from forging) of which 4-5 are directly weapon OCs, and you have a rough estimate how many you can get on average per week. Divide by the amount of OCs available (~7 per weapon*6*4=168), and you have your answer.

To reiterate, you get blank, cosmetic. and matrix cores from:
Deep Dives
Promotions
Core Hunts
Forge Mastery
Machine Events (where blank cores are spent)

Edit: Bonus advice.
When doing promotion assigments, play a different class to maximize efficiency.

There are 160 weapon overclocks in the game. You can get 7.1 per week if you do both dives, the assignment, infuse all the blank cores you get, and forge everything.

At that rate you'd need 23 weeks to get them all (about 4-5 months), but with only 2 promotions in that time it would only take 22 (and from there every three promotions takes off a week).

If you wanted to get everything as fast as possible, there are 488 cosmetic overclocks in the game, 213 of which you'd get during your grind for the overclocks (at 3.1 cosmetic cores per week, not counting promotions) leaving 275, but at this point you get 11.2 cosmetics per week (since all Overclocks are now Blanks, which can be infused into Cosmetics), so that's 25 extra weeks to get them all too, with every three promotions knocking off a week.

Yeah, even one per week for that long would be difficult. I feel like I've played a lot but hardly gained any promotions since you'd have to commit to one character to get them faster. I wish they let you choose overclocks... what if I don't get the one I want until the very last one and by then I'm bored of the game?

https://deeprockgalactic.wiki.gg/wiki/Weapon_Overclocks says 160 and 488. There were 148 overclocks before season 5, and I'm guessing the Fandom version of the wiki that you're looking at hasn't updated that count yet. Not too rough; just an extra 3 weeks-ish.

If you get bored of the game without a specific OC, then I can pretty much guarantee you will be bored of the game *with* that OC. Some OCs actually make the game more boring (Looking squarely at you, Neurotoxin Payload!) Most are fun, but situational, so the enjoyment comes from finding new uses for ones, even ones everyone else swears are useless.

yeah this is about the same for me, ~400 hours to cover all of them and only like ~100 to get the weapon oc's specifically

the big time waster was the cargo crate until last update, I reckon that would now take somewhere on the order of ~500 hours

this. Some OCs change a gun completely, some like engies stuff make his sort useless stubby into something pretty deadly. But ultimately, none of them change how a character plays 100 percent. Lots are situational too.
