Ranking Mission Types.

Since we just got new mission type a week ago, I'm curious to see how people would rank them from most favourite to least favourite.

My ranking would go like this I guess :
1. Mining Expedition.
2. On-Site Refining.
3. Egg Hunt.
4. Point Extraction.
5. Salvage Operation.
6. Escort Duty.
7. Deep Scan.
8. Industrial Sabotage.
9. Elimination.

- Mining. Love me some good old mining.
- Egg Hunt. Nice relaxed mission.
- Point Extract. Nice test of skill and speed, can be stressful though.
- Refinery. I like the terrain challenge, but the ending segment is a bit long for my tastes.
- Elimination. Gets stale, but still good every once in a while.
- Salvage. Ending sequence is too long and samey for me.
- Escort. Ending sequence is too long and samey.
- Sabotage. Not a fan of the boss fight or timed sequences. Good every once in a while but I don't think I'd ever choose to play it over anything else.

That was my answer the last time this kind of question was asked. That was a while ago and... I'd say most of it still holds up. I'd probably put Deep Scan somewhere between Mining and Point Extract, but whether it goes above or below Egg Hunt remains to be seen.

1. On-site Refining - Big open cavern, player controlled pipes, grinding, fun / relaxing
2. Mining Expedition - It's like classic DRG gameplay, always fun
3. Salvage Operation - Look! A baby Molly!
4. Deep Scan - It's like industrial sabotage but fun (haven't played it at all)
5. Egg Hunt - It's straightforward and simple, like Mining Expedition
6. Point Extraction - Over too quickly for me to ever really enjoy it, but quite good
7. Escort - A little samey, but always fairly easy and simple, also Doretta
8. Elimination - Feels more like a side-mission / encounter than a proper mission
9. Industrial Sabotage - Once you played one of these you've played them all

need to play deep scan more to form an opinion but i'd probably say its between mining and elimination somewhere

B Tier - Deep Scan (love the drillevator, hate tracking down the nodes), Elimination, Point Extraction
C Tier - Escort
D Tier - Sabotage

Edit: Moved Sabotage to D tier. It's just not fun if you don't bring extremely specific weapon types, boss has far too much health

I actually like this system more, so here's my revised list:


S Tier - Escort Duty, Point Extraction.
A Tier - On-Site Refining, Egg Hunt, Salvage Operation, Mining Expedition, Deep Scan.
B Tier - ..
C Tier - ..
D Tier - Industrial Sabotage.
F Tier - Elimination.

These four missions strike a good balance between exploration, objectives, and combat.
1. Point Extraction.
2. Mining Expedition.
3. Deep Scan.
4. On-Site Refining.

They're alright.
5. Escort Duty.
6. Egg Hunt.

Too much waiting around.
7. Salvage Operation. - Uplink (Standing around an area). Refuel (Standing around an area). Survive (Standing around the dropship).
8. Industrial Sabotage. - Hacking (Standing around an area). Hacking 2 (Standing around). Boss fight (Standing around after you beat each phase because of invulnerability phases)
9. Elimination. - The bosses are figured out. You know what to do given what spawns. 2 out of 3 of the dreads have time-wasting unfun invulnerability phases.
