Pretty much everything you have has upgrades, not to mention frameworks, skins; and overclocks for weapons.
"Glowsticks" used to have upgrades but they were changed to just be fully upgraded by default, so that new players don't have to waste resources on them; and can spend them on more exciting things.
All that said, DRG is a co-op lobby based shooter at heart, it's vertical progression is short by design; so that everyone can play together. DRG is about unlocking side grades and options more than it is about grinding for straight up improvements.
As for the rest of it, upgrades are more playstyle customisations, rather than "numbers go up". That why it's fairly easy to get all the basic ones you want right at the start. DRG is not a game where you play for 500 hours and gain the ability to one-shot everything.

A what? :DD its way better to have it upgradable. "pre-upgraded" as you call it just means NO UPGRADES :DDDDDDDD
OK you ppl like it as it is, cool play it. I on the other hand would like to meet with the management :D Where do they put all that mineral i mine for em m?
But seriously, my point is that it lacks content, and does not fit dwarf "lore"/soul. Its easy, disassemble some skins in to separate parts, assign parts with stats and voala, unpolished but happy days. Spreed some scrap in dungeons, maybe sometime we find a part there, maybe not. Hey maybe we find an old photo of as pin up dwarf girl :D Its fun to find/loot things.
Feeling of progressions, improvement and discovery. Thats what I mean by content. :]
Now after a few dives i know how 80-90% of caves will look :D and what i will do there and what i will find there.
Im just honest thats all, no hard feelings here.
No, it's not, because then new players have to buy silly flare upgrades instead of something more interesting; like gun and tool upgrades.
You don't know jack about how 80-90% of the caves look like, that's for sure.
I after 500 hours am still caught off-guard by some compositions. And I'm trying to main Driller, it trains spatial awareness just fine.
Are you, by any chance, a Scout main?
as for everything else it's just not that kind of game, for better or worse.
I still find unique cave generation after 2000 hours so I really doubt that.
Go farm clowns somewhere else.

I'm not entirely sure how to react to this.
Pity him for managing to miss basically entire game for that long,
or pity him for him being unable to refund it?
In either case, he is not in my lobbies - so I can afford showing some mercy.
So can you, fellow miners.
It's a roguelike so you are constantly finding weapon upgrades and unlockables in the caves, and you can buy lots of different abilities and stat boosts through your armour. If those mechanics sound fun, wishlist Rogue Core and play it when it comes out.
Just know that DRG isn't set up for incremental stat buffs and will always mostly focus on horizontal progression, so your suggestions will likely never work in DRG.
Something tells me you still have things to learn about the game.
Im talking about upgrading, not downgrading. Make it stronger, longer duration, double trow etc.
