Kestrel probably knows more than I do if I'm incorrect there, I only started with MINT recently
(Thanks Chibbity, Femboy, kestrel, and everyone else)
I don't really use Mods, save for the '5th Anniversary Jazz Music' One-
I'm guessing that one won't be Screwy really, as it's a Very Minor Mod
But a question I have, and might be relevant to others, the Jazz Music Mod, and many other Mods, are activated by simply using the Button and Links In-Game with the DRG 'ESC' Menu- It Links to mod.io apparently, is that Still Safe? And how is that different from going to the actual ModHub, Unified, or MINT?
Again, I just use the Background Lobby Jazz Music Mod, I should be fine- But I was Curious, for myself and others, how EXACTLY Activating Mods through DRG's In-Game Menu Works
Thanks
Might as well use MINT if it offers more features than the in game implementation with Mod.io; so I'd be interested to hear about any features or improvements it offers.
Basically ModHub is a mod that lets you change other mods settings from a menu within the game, you dont need it unless you use a mod that needs it; MINT is a 3rd party mod loader so more an alternative to Mod.io and the in game modding menu all together.
Yes Mod.io is perfectly safe to keep using.
you can still get unified UI
MINT only keeps track of mods the same way in-game support does, but it does so externally and you're able to downgrade to older versions of mods (provided they're available)
i understand your reluctance to use MINT, believe me when i say i'm not happy that this has happened. it's a shame that GSG have to waste their time dealing with this situation when they could be working on more important things, just because some lunatic went mad with power and tried to force his way of playing onto others
if you like i'm open to adding you and helping out with the installation process, if need be
Appreciate the info and clarification!
I might be getting old but I'm still pretty tech savvy haha, I've even written a few mods for other games, I'll keep that in mind but I'm pretty sure I can handle it; thanks though <3. Is there a way to import my subscribed mods, or is it done manually?
Where does one get MINT? Is it a GitHub deal?
No prob, rock and stone!
google "DRG mod integration", its github page should be the first result. it's made by "trumank" (aka assemblystorm)
just a suggestion before installing MINT: you should get a better modding menu[mod.io] and use that to copypaste all of your mods to a text file (or whatever) so you can quickly dump them all into MINT and download them
MINT's installation doesn't mention this until after you have it set up, by which point the in-game modding menu will be disabled, which is a bit silly but oh well
I appreciate the help, especially from you, considering we've argued about MINT in the past, but when you're right, you're right; and you were right about this.
Were our roles reversed I might have been tempted to say "meh, he turned his nose up before; let him figure it out on his own" haha.
(Kidding..mostly..) : P
nbd, i wouldnt use this as an opportunity to dickwave and say "lol i told u so!!!! :DDDD"
im glad more people will use MINT because of this because i do think it's just better than official integration by nature of being a third-party project. it just sucks that it's happening because of a situation like this
