You just hold it down until you hear the thrusters activate. You don't press and release.
I totally agree on this one. My thoughts exactly.
I don't like it on the C key. It's pretty much the reason i've never used that perk after trying it out for some hours initially.
The only reason against a change to the jump key i can imagine is the chance to activate on climbing ledges. Climbing can be a little...unreliable. Physics sometimes pushes you from the ledge for no reason and the like.
On the other hand, the perk is pretty much a "Scout Perk", so there isn't a need to climb ledges, when you can fly. Anyways.. Maybe a "tab jump 3 times" would fix that already. It would also help to time the perk at excaclty the moment you need it.
Sometimes I end up tapping it first before I hold it down. Also in order to deactive the boots you need to indeed press the button or space bar so it can also happen that I press it twice by accident while trying to turn them off and then call for the mule by accident.
It would be nice to either have it bound to the space bar by default rather than the "call for the mule bar" or to give me an option to rebind it. It's nothing game-breaking but if it was on another button then I would never end up using it by mistake (even if it is my own fault in doing so).
By the way that's exactly what you do because you "HOLD" it down to active but then you can let go of the button and you will still keep hovering. You have to tap the button again to stop hovering or wait for the time to run out. So there's a lot of stuff that can go wrong if you are in the middle of a big fight and can't 100 % concentrate on this stuff.
That is a stupid reason. We are talking about a PC game here. I don't see why they can't offer PC players, advanced rebind options? It wouldn't interfere with controllers, because they could keep their fixed button layout.
