Some Salvage missions impossible
Fuel cells dropped ina tiny hallway, solo players as scout, how am I supposed to do it when the capture radius is like 3m? I have all ugprades and am doing promotion assignment on hazard 3. Ridiculous.

Make use of your grappling hook as well as the knowledge that even on Hazard 3 the game's scaled to you being alone so its not as "hard" as you make it out to be.

You can do everything solo. The fuel cell should drop around the drop pod, if it drops in a tiny hallway then why not make the hallway bigger? You have a pickaxe that you can use.

Soloing as scout is always difficult - scout simply doesn't have that many tools to deal with hordes, and even then his best tool is mobility. Which Salvage denies.

Sooo... don't solo them as Scout? When doing assignments, you can play as any class, solo, hosting or joining - as long as the mission is the correct one. Just switch to gunner for that one, and swithc back later.

You have a pickaxe, dig out the area around the fuel cells to make more room for yourself. Or you can whine like a child that you actually have to play the game and it didn't just hand you the mission on a silver platter.

Its possible to solo all missions as all the classes, Scout is able to make use of his mobility to be outside of the zone to make use of attacking the weak points.

Scout is the absolutely worst class to do salvage with solo. He doesn't really have the firepower to deal with large swarms of bugs.

Get a gunner or engineer, they both excel at defending static positions with turrets, mines, ziplines and shields.

Or just find a team if you insist on playing scout. Even if you don't make a single kill, you will still be contributing to the final fights with flares and grenades.

It is a forum. People come here to ask for help. The first part of your comment was helpful, the second unnecessary.

If we search long enough we will surely find a comment from you where you once asked for help or criticized a part of the game. Did you cry there?

Scout solo in salvage may have to spend some time outside the capture zone. You'll lose progress, but you won't lose the mission until it ticks all the way down. You can also dig with pickaxe to make a bigger battlefield and even move the fuel cells by digging under them.

Best solution is not to solo those though :P

Lots of people are saying soloing with scout is difficult or to not do it.

That's not true at all. Any class is entirely viable in a solo setting. Bosco is given to you to offset your lack of firepower, and each class itself can deal large damage if loaded out correctly.

It takes For.Ev.Er. unless you are Driller, but it can be done, and if you're dedicated to soloing you will need to once in a while.

Scout is easily the best solo class - just not on salvage :P

Sometimes (rarely, but it happens) the cave generation make some funky layout. Wells so deep falling is instadeath. Rooms so big not even flares can light them. Purely vertical extraction point map. Exit drop pod hanging in the air near ceiling. Next tunnel hidden behind rock. Badly placed uplinks/fuel cells.

The funny thing is, you always have the tools to overcome the hurdle. Yes, even as soloing, any class. It's just random extra challenge that requires some analysis. And that's why I love DRG!

In my experiences there are certain unfortunately deployments of droppods or combination of terrain and hazards that will make missions utterly impossible for certain classes. The most common I see are drop pods hanging from the top of large caverns where the ramp will touch nothing. Sure, technically you could dig a hole on the side of the base of the cavern and carefully work your way upwards to as close to above where the droppod is and make a leap of fath if you happened to not have a zipline in the right degree range or grappling hook. But could you do it in the few minutes of evac time? Nah.
Given unlimited time and equipment refills, yes, most obstacles can be overcame. But if you run out of consumables or more likely time- especially in cases of terrain generation while on a low O2 mission- then no, you're definitely going to lose some missions.
It sucks.
It's preventable.
Hopefully it will be patched eventually.
Until then, scout is your friend. Grappling hook never runs out of charges, allows for upwards, downwards, and crossward mobility safely, and while solo you can zip behind armored baddies and get a few shotty hits in on the butt.
