You can also make ping voicelines for stuff that isn't there. Or make downed voicelines. A lot of stuff that a player who's never experienced the mod could get genuinely confused by, whereas in vanilla, if you say a voiceline, it must be related to something that exists/happened.
Lastly, remember how I said you can keybind spam voicelines? Yeah, those include Mission Control lines, which play for all players, everywhere on the map. I know from testing that you can spam his promotion speeches a bunch to cause a loud, auditory ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for every player in the game, to the point you can't hear anything else.
So yeah, it actually is justified being in Approved. Only way I could see it being Verified is if the creator came out with a "Lite" version that doesn't allow Mission Control lines, and has a cooldown on everything else so you can't spam.
Tectonically yes but did people do it? Never saw someone with my play hours, maybe if become a meme in the future, besides idk how people will going to use it as 'joke ' if yes then I think it's better to uninstall this game lol.
Also at least it's not fart.
This fart is just attract some discord users enjoying who spam the meme for 9999999th time theses people aren't funny and pain in ass.
my argument is that there's nothing in those guidelines that correlates to moving shoutboard from verified to approved. there has to be at least some connection beyond it having the ability to affect other players, because now we have this double standard where certain verified mods can get demoted to approved based on completely arbitrary reasons
it sets the precedent that now someone can just complain about a mod they don't like to lower its category placement, and that is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scary concept. official modding support would completely die out if that becomes standard
what are you gonna do if someone gets a verified mod you like demoted to approved purely on the basis of "waah it's annoying :("
I don't agree the reasoning was arbitrary, it's disruptive, that's a perfectly sound reason to do something about it; even if it's not explicitly covered in the guidelines.
Any Verified mod that should stay a Verified mod, would not do anything that annoys other players; so I'm not super worried about that.
Ultimately it was a judgement call they made, a judgement that I agree with; and so too apparently does the mod's creator. Changing the category of a mod is not something they do often, or lightly; so I don't think there is any reason to panic just yet.
Finally...and I'm not being mean but, why do you care? The modding categories don't even affect you do they?
lmao
lmfao even
no there still is a verified version
yes there is an argument to be made that shoutboard could be used in more disruptive ways, but im saying that the precedent has been established now. whether or not the mod actually falls in line with approved guidelines doesn't even matter anymore. it just takes a few losers to moan about it until it gets demoted
and let's be real - if someone wants to troll they're not gonna use a silly voiceline spam mod. im pretty sure you can just turn lower character/mission control volume to %0 and then you're unaffected by the mod entirely
*to be fully clear, i don't consider you one of those people, your opinions are a lot more nuanced at least
well, i'll ask you again - what would you do if a verified mod you really liked using suddenly got demoted to approved?
you've been to the mod's page, you've seen all the people who are now upset over shoutbox's demotion. they're completely ♥♥♥♥ out of luck if they want to use the mod again, because nobody joins approved lobbies. their only option now is to turn to an unofficial 3rd party manager which a lot of people (understandably) would be retisent to trust
like just because i use MINT now doesn't mean i don't care about official support. i criticise it because i want to see it improved. for as useful as MINT is, it would be bad if it became the de facto means of modding DRG. i don't want a total wild-west scenario where everyone runs any mods they like in anyone's lobby. i'm fine with restrictions on modding but when i see blatant misuse of the categories system to punish an ultimately harmless mod, im gonna call it out the same way i would any other problem in this game
perhaps i should make a thread some time talking about what i want to see changed in the modding system, so you and i stop derailing every single thread whenever someone even slightly mentions modding
That one is different and only allows Dwarf shouts, so you can't spam the Mission Control lines.
By their very nature, Verified mods should not affect anyone else, so if the complaint can be fairly leveled at a mod, then the complaint is valid; and should be looked into.
(Yes I know some Verified mods have been allowed that affect other players, but they weren't disruptive.)
I'd try to take it in stride and give them the benefit of the doubt that there was a good reason.
There is a Verified version that only allows Dwarf shouts, so I think that's a fair compromise?
That's prolly a good idea lol, if this forum was anything like the Discord; we'd both have been banned for off topic by now.
Kicking is not an option if you're not the host.
I don't think muting stops voice lines from playing?
I doubt anyone doing this would stop just from being asked, they are trying to be annoying.
