You can't install programs into RAM. Also, this game isn't RAM heavy, it's CPU heavy.
No, RAM does not do either of those things.
RAM is basically binary, you either have enough for the game/application or you don't; which is why having extra RAM beyond what's needed doesn't do anything for you.
I think you're confused because better CPU/GPU setups typically come with more RAM.
There are some VERY specific games like Star Citizen that are RAM bound but that's an exception.
Also, you do know there is a difference between RAM and VRAM right?
If a game uses 8GB of RAM there will be no FPS gain even if you went to 32 GB.
It doesn't need more, there is nothing to load into that extra space.
If you only had 4GB, the game would crash when it ran out of memory.
This isn't true.
The only time the game improved in performance was when I updated my CPU. That's because this game is CPU intensive. It is not RAM intensive.
That isn't how programming works.
