Especially scouts, lazy bastids won't mine nitra after you pinged it for them
Even then, you could just kick them and deposit their stuff once they drop it.
Just either do the work yourself, or kick the dead weight and hope the next player to join has their brain turned on.
But Its especially infuriating when *recent example* I realize I'm the only person doing Aquarqs in a Point Extraction, and the rest of the guys are just wandering around shooting things or taking in the scenery till constant attacks start and we get overrun. Sad thing is I was a gunner, probably the least capable of going after those high placed gems :(
(Ok, yes, I was stupid and forgot about my Ziplines.)
I've also had myself filling both Fuel Canisters on an escort mission because the other guys just stare at them.
Back when I first came across DRG and was Looking at the Intro Videos
and Still Pics, and as a Fan of WH40K, I Initially thought
"Oh, this is a Space Dwarf Version of Space Hulk, but on a Planet, not a Ship" -
I quickly realized DRG is actually a 'Space Dwarf Mining Simulation Game' and it's about the Objectives and getting back to the Drop Pod Alive- There are Many Dangers to be overcome, the Planet Hoxxes Itself and the Terrain being the Largest Danger- The Glyphids, Mactera, and the Rest of the Enemies are simply a Part of the Dangerous Planet, A Big Part, but just a Part- That's what the Guns are for, and they are Fun as All Hell, but it's always about Completing the Mission First, and making sure We 'Leave No Dwarf Behind' -
DRG is a MUCH Better Game than just a 'Shooter', as it's often Mis-Labeled on Steam
As for Players that Don't or Never Mine?
Those aren't Dwarves- Those are nothing more than Bearded Gnomes
you generally have 20-30 platforms you are never going to use for anything. please.
im pinging things so you put a platform under them.
it doesnt even need to be perfectly placed - just please. i need to be able to stand on the 60 degree inverted wall. im begging you. dont make the driller do it. the driller doesnt like me. he blows me up.
Tho I will admit some 2nd objectives are some what strange, like the seeds for example, despite playing multiple missions, I had to be lvl20 to realize those drop from cocons on the ceiling and I was overlooking those. Then the fact some objectives and 2nds are behind colored dots on the mine surfaces.
Maybe is a case of some players getting carried too much and are yet to learn by themselfs how usefull is to mine some stuff. I will say that playing Engineer does give you the freedom to see what others do as you try to find where and when a platform can benefit the team.
-Edit: Cause Gunner might be looking for something to kill as the inisial zip line is bad, Scout is flying all over the map, and digger might be digging. Everyone adds to the team but some roles give a bit more freedom to evaluate the situattion, than others. Even Engineer might be spending a bit too much time looking at walls and moving the sentry.
But seriously, high level players giving your pings a hard stare then ignoring them is painful. I also legitimately appreciate Scouts pinging things they naturally see before me.
It's more likely to encounter players that refuse to do machine events rather than refusing to mine.
Whenever I see someone walk past minerals without mining them, I want to punch them in the face for leaving the "less fun" part for the rest of us. Very selfish behavior.
